RARE: CNN Airs Criticism Of The Basis For The Bragg Case Against Trump

By: Jorge Bonilla — April 25th 2024 at 01:03
The Regime Media has promoted, covered, and obsessed over the Bragg prosecution of Donald Trump in New York City- the so-called “hush money” trial. And they have done so, continuously. But tonight, CNN takes the extraordinary step of airing the case against the indictment. Watch as Boston University law professor Jed Handelsman Shugerman lays out the case, as aired on CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillip on Wednesday, August 24th, 2024 (click “expand”): ABBY PHILLIP: Professor, you say- see, three red flags with this case. What are they? JED HANDELSMAN SHUGERMAN: Well the three red flags are: first, that there has- there's no reported case. I've checked the records of state cases. There's no state case that shows a state prosecutor using the Federal Election Campaign Act, which is the- really the crime that the prosecutors are alleging here. A federal election violation, a federal campaign filing violation as the basis, either directly or indirectly, for any crime. So that is a first example of what's unprecedented here, and there- this is not just a coincidence. There are good reasons why a federal prosecutor has complete control to the exclusion of the states for enforcing something as complicated as the Federal Election Campaign Act. That's the first one.  The second problem is that there is no example of this statute that relies on an intent to defraud being such a broad general public. The idea that one would be defrauding the general public or voters. There's no precedent for using it for election interference.  And the final problem is the use of this statute. But basically what the business filing violation is, a misdemeanor with intent to defraud, it becomes a felony only if the prosecutors can show an intent to commit or conceal another crime. The Trump lawyers pointed out, made an argument that- in New York, there is a problem with trying to use the filing. The mis filing to upgrade it to a felony, relying on another jurisdiction. And the Manhattan DA could only point to two examples, neither of which is a judicial interpretation. So it's an untested theory. Those two cases, one was a guilty plea and one was jury instruction. Neither one counts as a judge hearing an argument and ruling on it. So those are examples of how this case, three examples of how it's unte- based on untested legal theories and on unprecedented applications. Shugerman is the author of an op-ed recently published in The New York Times, subtly titled: I Thought the Bragg Case Against Trump Was a Legal Embarrassment. Now I Think It’s a Historic Mistake. In criticizing the case as a selective prosecution, Shugerman writes: Eight years after the alleged crime itself, it is reasonable to ask if this is more about Manhattan politics than New York law. This case should serve as a cautionary tale about broader prosecutorial abuses in America — and promote bipartisan reforms of our partisan prosecutorial system. Nevertheless, prosecutors should have some latitude to develop their case during trial, and maybe they will be more careful and precise about the underlying crime, fraud and the jurisdictional questions. Mr. Trump has received sufficient notice of the charges, and he can raise his arguments on appeal. One important principle of “our Federalism,” in the Supreme Court’s terms, is abstention, that federal courts should generally allow state trials to proceed first and wait to hear challenges later. This case is still an embarrassment of prosecutorial ethics and apparent selective prosecution. Nevertheless, each side should have its day in court. If convicted, Mr. Trump can fight many other days — and perhaps win — in appellate courts. But if Monday’s opening is a preview of exaggerated allegations, imprecise legal theories and persistently unaddressed problems, the prosecutors might not win a conviction at all. It should be noted that Shugerman is no Trump fan. During the segment he claimed to have never voted for a Republican, and criticized Trump’s description of the Bragg prosecution as “election interference”- citing the Biden Department of Justice’s refusal to bring the case forth.  Abby Phillip questioned Shugerman’s theories, then had her legal panel do likewise. Shugerman held his own and then some. The panel was an extremely rare break from the hysterical “walls are closing in” coverage that the media have given this matter to date. Will there be more of it? Given the ease with which Shugerman made his case, I’m not so sure.

OF COURSE: CBS’s O’Donnell Asks ‘Progressive’ Pope Francis Obligatory Climate Question

By: Jorge Bonilla — April 24th 2024 at 23:11
CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell delivered this evening’s newscast from Rome, and her interview with Pope Francis featured heavily within the newscast. But if the early tease is any indication, O’Donnell devoted the interview to the reheating of the media’s same old talking points regarding the Catholic Church. Case in point: the media love Francis on climate change, and often hail him as a “progressive”.  Watch as O’Donnell does both of these things: NORAH O’DONNELL: Francis is also the first pontiff to make climate change a priority. In 2015, to make an important point, images of the environment were projected onto St. Peter's Basilica, the dome designed in the mid-16th Century by Michelangelo. What do you say to the deniers of climate change? POPE FRANCIS: There are people who are foolish, and foolish even if you show them research, they don't believe it. Why? Because they don't understand the situation or because of their interest. But climate change exists. O’DONNELL: His progressive style has made him popular worldwide, with millions coming here to St. Peter's Square to catch a glimpse of the Holy Father. OF COURSE O’Donnell asked the question and CBS aired it, given Francis’ proclivities and economic orthodoxies, as well as the fact that “Earth Day” was observed earlier this week. The questions with answers reflecting that the Pope is still a Catholic, such as on abortion and marriage, will have to wait for the full broadcast three and half weeks from now. The interview opens with O’Donnell trying to bait the Pope into calling Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza a “genocide”, an invitation to attack Israel that Francis appears to resist based on the footage aired tonight. The Pope then takes another question on Gaza and redirects it towards Ukraine.  After some conversation on children comes the climate question, which Francis answers in a manner that temporarily delights the left. O’Donnell goes on to hail the Pope’s “progressive style” and implied subsequent  popularity, before citing data suggesting that Church membership in the U.S. is declining. The full interview will air in three and a half weeks and feature O’Donnell running the Pope through the entire leftwing policy pupu platter. Very predictably so. Click “expand” to view the  transcript of the interview fragment as aired on the CBS Evening News on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024: NORAH O’DONNELL: Oh, my goodness. Bongiorno, Your Holiness. What an honor. So wonderful to meet you.  POPE FRANCIS: Lovely to meet you.  O’DONNELL: Love to meet you. Yes. Thank you so much for doing this.  We met Pope Francis today at Casa Santa Marta, the guest house where the pontiff lives, instead of the lavish papal palace. At 87 years old, he may have trouble walking, but he had no difficulty sitting down with us for an hour long conversation. How is your health? POPE FRANCIS: My health is good. O’DONNELL: In nearly every address… POPE FRANCIS: …who suffers so much from the war…  O’DONNELL: The pope often calls for peace. He condemned Hamas' October 7th attack, but has also called on Israel to use restraint.  There are now pictures of starving children coming out of Gaza. What about those that call that a genocide? POPE FRANCIS: Genocide. Every afternoon at 7:00 P.M., I call Gaza to the parish. There are about 600 people there, and they tell me what’s going on. It's very hard. Very, very hard. Food goes in, but they have to fight for it. It's very hard. O’DONNELL: I know you call for peace. You have called for a ceasefire in many of your sermons. Can you help negotiate peace? POPE FRANCIS: I can pray. I do. I pray a lot. O’DONNELL: During World Children's Day, which is the end of May, the U.N. says over a million people will be facing famine in Gaza. Many of them children. What can be done? POPE FRANCIS: Not only Gaza. We should think about Ukraine. Those kids don't know how to smile. I tell them something, but they forgot how to smile. And this is very hard when a child forgets to smile. That's really very serious. Very serious. O’DONNELL: Do you have a message for Vladimir Putin when it comes to Ukraine? POPE FRANCIS: Please. Countries at war, all of them. Stop the war. Look to negotiate. Look for peace. A negotiated peace is better than a war without end. O’DONNELL: His Most Holy Father is considered one of the most influential people in the world. Leading nearly 1.4 billion Catholics. He is the first pope from the Americas, the first Jesuit, and will host the Vatican's first World Children's Day next month. I love that you take the kids in the Popemobile with you and bring them up to the Apostolic Palace when you say a prayer. Why do you do that? POPE FRANCIS: Children always bear a message. They bear a message and it is a way for us to have a younger heart. O’DONNELL: Francis is also the first pontiff to make climate change a priority. MARY BENNETT: It has made us emotional, just being here, going into St. Peter's Basilica, going into the Sistine Chapel, just tears coming into our eyes because we are actually, you can feel the spirit. O’DONNELL: Sophia and Aaron came with their family from San Diego, California. How did it make you feel when he came out the window? SOPHIA: It made me feel good, like butterflies in my stomach. O’DONNELL: Still, the number of Catholics in America is dwindling. In the U.S., only 20% of adults identify as Catholic, and that is down from 24% in 2007.  I wonder if you could speak to those who don't go to Mass anymore, or maybe don't see a place for themselves in the Catholic church. POPE FRANCIS: I would say there is always a place, always. If, in this parish, the priest doesn't seem welcoming, I understand, but go and look. There is always a place. Do not run away from the Church. The Church is very big. It's more than a temple. It's more. You shouldn't run away from it. O’DONNELL: We also asked the Pope about the migrant crisis, gay rights, women's role in the church, and whether he’s thinking about retirement. We'll have that and much more on "60 minutes" on Sunday, May 19th, and then, a prime time special on Monday, May 20th, right here on CBS.

Today in History: Democrats Gather to Hold Their First KKK National Convention in Nashville, Tennessee

By: Jim Hoft — April 24th 2024 at 23:00

When the Civil War ended, and after Republican President Abraham Lincoln liberated the slaves, Democrats initiated Jim Crow laws to punish blacks.

Democrats continued for decades to discriminate against blacks. In fact, the KKK, was founded as the the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party.

The Ku Klux Klan assassinated hundreds of Republicans and their supporters, including Republican Representative James M. Hinds (December 5, 1833—October 22, 1868) of Little Rock.

Hinds represented Arkansas in the United States Congress from June 24, 1868 through October 22, 1868 before his death.

Democrats murdered him.

The Ku Klux Klan was founded as the activist wing of the Democratic Party.

On September 28, 1868, a mob of Democrats massacred nearly 300 African-American Republicans in Opelousas, Louisiana. The savagery began when racist Democrats attacked a newspaper editor, a white Republican and schoolteacher for ex-slaves. Several African-Americans rushed to the assistance of their friend, and in response, Democrats went on a “Negro hunt,” killing every African-American (all of whom were Republicans) in the area they could find. (Via Grand Old Partisan)

Democrats in hoods slaughtered hundreds of Republicans and blacks across the country.
They beat and threatened and murdered Republicans for standing up for the black man.

On April 20, 1871 the Republicans passed the anti-Ku Klux Klan Act outlawing Democratic terrorist groups.

The last KKK official to serve in Washington DC was former Senator Robert Byrd, a KKK kleagle. Byrd was a top Democrat and friend of Joe Biden.

Today in history: Democrats gather to hold their first KKK national convention

Grand Old Partisan reminds us that on April 24, 1867, Democrats held their first national KKK convention  at the Maxwell House in Nashville to establish a nationwide organization.

The first Imperial Wizard was a former Confederate general, Nathan Bedford Forrest. He said that the KKK’s goal was to eradicate the GOP in southern states by terrorizing Republican activists.

This is a reminder of the Democrat Party’s vicious past – and the once brave Republicans who stood for righteousness.

REPORT: Anti-Israel Protesters Planning to ‘Shut Down’ the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday

By: Mike LaChance — April 24th 2024 at 22:20

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner or ‘Nerd Prom’ is happening this weekend on Saturday night. This is the night where a bunch of DC and NYC journalists get together with Democrats and make fun of Republicans for a few hours.

According to new reports, the anti-Israel mob is also planning to attend the event, which could be very interesting.

Most of the journalists who will be attending are ideologically aligned with the protesters, so there shouldn’t be any problems, right?

The Washington Examiner reports:

Pro-Palestinian protests aim to ‘shut down’ Biden, journalist ‘Nerd Prom’

Pro-Palestinian groups and journalists are readying a rally to shut down the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner Saturday at the Washington Hilton over the Biden administration’s handling of the Gaza-Hamas crisis.

“Shut down the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” one group, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, said in an online message. They are calling for protesters to gather down the street from the hotel two hours before the glitzy dinner begins.

Another group, the Committee to Protect Journalists, is urging a boycott by White House reporters who suspend their arms-length relationship with Biden aides for a night of elbow rubbing at the so-called “nerd prom.”

“The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is an embodiment of media manipulation, trading journalistic ethics for access. For journalists to fraternize at an event with President Biden and Vice President Harris would be to normalize, sanitize, and whitewash the administration’s role in genocide,” said the committee.

Revealed: Court Document Release Indicates Jack Smith and FBI Were After Obama and North Korea-Related Documents in Mar-a-Lago Raid

By: Jim Hoft — April 24th 2024 at 08:30

Guest post by Joe Hoft at JoeHoft.com – republished with permission.

Newly unredacted documents in the Mar-a-Lago raid case indicate that Jack Smith was after Obama and North Korea-related documents.

After the raid the DOJ was pleased with their findings and wrote, “I think we are in good shape.”

President Trump said two years after he met Obama before his 2017 Inauguration that Obama was on the brink of starting a war with North Korea. Trump claimed that Obama was “close to starting a big war” with North Korea.

Obama must not have liked this.

The corrupt and criminal Obama/Biden gang was after documents related to North Korea years later when it raided President Trump’s iconic home of Mar-a-Lago and took President Trump’s documents that he legally had possession of per the Presidential Records Act.

Julie Kelly touched upon this in the latest revelations coming out of the corrupt Biden/Obama/Jack Smith classified documents case against President Trump. The latest unredacted documents that Jack Smith argued not to release show that the Obama/Biden gang was working with multiple government organizations to set up President Trump.

Blockbuster News@julie_kelly2 tells of a more than three month battle involving Judge Aileen Cannon, the Department of Justice, Special Counsel Jack Smith, and President Trump’s attorneys and co-defendants. The objective: to unseal and make public documentation and records that… pic.twitter.com/Dh4QE9KGiA

— Real America’s Voice (RAV) (@RealAmVoice) April 23, 2024

But there is more. Per a document released this week after months of fighting to make the documents available to the American Public, there is a clue as to what the corrupt Biden/Obama gang was after in its raid of Mar-a-Lago. Not only did the regime want to take back all documents that President Trump had possession of that highlighted their crimes, but the regime wanted another key document or set of documents as well.

The corrupt and criminal Biden/Obama regime had to conjure up a reason for why they raided President Trump’s home and stole his documents. They apparently had their reason outlined before they raided President Trump’s home and stole documents he legally had in his possession per the Presidential Records Act.

In the document below there is a clue:

MORE NEW INFO from unredacted evidence in classified documents case.

Within 24 hours of receiving 15 boxes from Mar-a-Lago, here is assessment by NARA.

F*cking clown show– pic.twitter.com/yc6RKR7TXg

— Julie Kelly (@julie_kelly2) April 22, 2024

The first document above is a report that was generated after the raid that provides a clue as to what they were after – and it’s not only the accordion folder of Deep State crimes.

“There is one accordian [sp] folder in the mess so it stood out. It contained, among other things, the Obama letter and North Korea correspondence. We need to verify that all of the correspondence is there. But I think we are in good shape.”

The DOJ writes “I think we are in good shape”.

We can guess but based on the corrupt Biden/Obama DOJ’s actions to date, we know that for this regime to believe they were “in good shape”, they were either happy about what they obtained that removed the risk of their crimes being exposed, or they were happy about obtaining documents they were going to use to set up President Trump (North Korea communications), or both.

Why was the DOJ so intent on obtaining Obama and North Korea related documents from President Trump’s home?

NewsBusters Podcast: Pretending the Trump Prosecutors Are Nonpartisans

By: Tim Graham — April 24th 2024 at 22:37
ABC and CBS almost completely refuse to identify Trump's elected Democrat prosecutors -- Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, and Fani Willis -- as Democrats, and certainly not Democrats elected on a promise to get Trump. NBC dabbles with the D. For example, elected Democrat Alvin Bragg, the District Attorney of Manhattan, was described as a Democrat in 16 of 59 evening-news stories on NBC programs. But CBS never did in 48 Bragg stories. On ABC, there were 56 stories, but viewers only once heard that Bragg was a Democrat — on February 26, 2024, when correspondent Aaron Katersky relayed how “a spokesman for Trump... called Bragg ‘another deranged Democrat prosecutor.’” He's only described as a Democrat when they can make it sound like a wild Trump accusation. Elected Democrat Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York state, NBC mentioned her Democrat-ness in seven of 26 stories. But ABC’s World News Tonight has aired 44 stories mentioning James’s civil suit against Trump and his businesses, yet only one -- back in November -- showed the word "Democrat" in a fleeting on-screen graphic that was shown for less than two seconds. CBS also had one citation (in 35 stories), but only on screen: the March 24, 2024 Sunday night newscast briefly showed a Trump campaign message demanding that “Insane radical Democrat AG Letitia James” keep her “FILTHY HANDS OFF OF TRUMP TOWER.” Elected Democrat Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia drew 60 stories on ABC’s World News Tonight (60) and 39 stories on the CBS Evening News, and ZERO out of 99 mentioned she was a Democrat. NBC were the "rampant" labelers at eight out of 50 stories (meaning they skipped it in 84 percent of stories. Longtime MRC Director of Research Rich Noyes (now freelancing from Connecticut) was at MRC headquarters to explain his latest study numbers (ending right before the Trump trial in Manhattan began) and projects it into this election year. He noted that while the networks liked to point out that Kenneth Starr was a "Republican independent counsel," he was never elected, but had served as Solicitor General under the first President Bush. FOX News Analyst From Chicago Says Fed-up City Residents Are Serious About Voting for Trump in November (VIDEO)

By: Mike LaChance — April 24th 2024 at 22:00

FOX News political analyst Gianno Caldwell is from Chicago and says that people in the city have had it with the influx of illegal immigrants and are very serious about voting for Trump in November.

Caldwell says that he is in regular communication with other Chicagoans and that there are enough of these voters to turn Illinois red in the 2024 election.

If you thought liberals were upset when Trump took Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2016, that was nothing compared to the meltdown we would witness if Trump takes Illinois this year.

FOX News reports:

Chicago native says residents livid over liberal mayor’s new migrant funding, ready to vote for Trump

Chicago residents are furious at Mayor Brandon Johnson and the city council for approving a $70 million proposal to bolster the city’s sanctuary city resources, and some think the outrage could favor Republicans in November.

Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell, who grew up in the Windy City, argued that residents will be voting for President Trump in droves during “The Faulkner Focus,” stemming from their anger over the city prioritizing migrants over their citizens.

“They are doing the right thing by saying we’re coming directly for your seats, including you, Mayor Brandon Johnson,” Caldwell told host Harris Faulkner on Tuesday. “[Johnson’s] message to Chicagoans has been quite clear. Get on the back of the bus. Now that’s everybody, but especially those Black voters who are the reason he’s mayor today. Get on the back of the bus.”

“These voters in Chicago… I speak to a lot of them pretty regularly. Pretty weekly. They’re serious about voting for Trump. They’re serious about handing the election in Illinois to Donald Trump, as you only need 20% of Cook County, which is within Chicago,” he continued.

Watch the video below:

Can you even imagine the faces of people on CNN and MSNBC on election night if Chicago goes red?

Left Wing Daily Show Mocks Joe Biden Over Cannibals Comments: ‘You’re Going to Lose the Election’ (VIDEO)

By: Mike LaChance — April 24th 2024 at 21:40

The far left Daily Show recently mocked Joe Biden for claiming his uncle was eaten by cannibals. During the segment, the host also said Biden is going to lose the election.

When Biden has lost the people at the Daily Show

Biden tells lies like this all the time, but in this particular case, the lie was so over the top that even the left can’t ignore it.

Breitbart News reports:

Watch: ‘The Daily Show’ Mocks Biden’s ‘Cannibals’ Story — ‘You’re Going to Lose the Election’

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show took aim at President Joe Biden on Tuesday, ridiculing the commander in chief for telling a bizarre story in which he claimed his uncle was eaten by cannibals.

The Daily Show co-hosts Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chien devoted an extended segment on Tuesday’s episode to Biden’s recent speech to the United Steelworkers Union in Pittsburgh. In his speech, Biden claimed that his uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, was shot down near Papua New Guinea during World War II and that his body was never recovered because “there were a lot of cannibals” in New Guinea at the time.

Even left-wing news outlets including New York magazine and the Associated Press have cast doubt on Biden’s tale…

“You’re going to lose the election,” Chieng said to Biden.

Vice President Kamala Harris is interviewed by ABC's "This Week" in a piece that aired Sunday.

An armed Secret Service agent assigned to Kamala Harris got into a physical fight with other agents at Joint Base Andrews on Monday morning.

According to reports, the problem agent began acting aggressively, speaking gibberish and shouting incoherently at other agents while they were near the lounge at JBA.

The problem agent had to be physically restrained and his firearm was taken away from him. He was handcuffed and taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

One other agent was also hospitalized.

Kamala Harris was at the Naval Observatory at the time of the fight.

“The USSS remains in a temporary holding pattern until further information becomes available, the sources said. After the agent receives additional medical attention and further evaluation, it will be determined if they can return to work. An internal review will be conducted and the USSS will assess if the agent’s top secret security clearance will be removed for medical or disciplinary reasons, sources explained.” CBS News reported.

CBS News reported:

A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris exhibited “distressing behavior” Monday morning at Joint Base Andrews and was hospitalized, authorities said. Harris was not present at the airbase at the time.

In a statement provided to CBS News, the U.S. Secret Service said that at about 9 a.m. local time Monday, the agent “began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing. The agent was removed from their assignment while medical personnel were summoned.”

Two sources briefed on the situation told CBS News the agent spouted gibberish, was speaking incoherently and provoked another officer physically.

According to sources, the agent in question pushed the special agent in charge while they were near the lounge of Joint Base Andrews.

There are reportedly DEI concerns about the hiring of the problem agent involved in the fight.

Student Protester at NYU Appears Unaware Why She is Even There – Turns to Question Friend (VIDEO)

By: Mike LaChance — April 24th 2024 at 21:00

A video that has gone viral on social media shows a student protester at New York University who seems confused about why she is even there.

As often happens in a moment like this, young progressives will flock to a protest or cause without understanding all of the details. They just know that their friends on the left are doing it and therefore it must be a good cause.

This is so telling about this entire movement.

Newsweek reports:

Woman’s Reason for Joining Pro-Palestinian Protest Goes Viral

A woman’s reasoning for joining a pro-Palestinian protest at New York University (NYU) has gone viral on social media this week.

On Wednesday, former New York City Mayor and lawyer to former President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani shared a video on X, formerly Twitter, showcasing an interview with a pro-Palestinian protester.

In the video, the individual is asked about the goal of protesters at NYU, to which the person responded, “I think the goal is showing our support for Palestine and demanding that NYU stops.”

“I honestly don’t know all of what NYU is doing … I really don’t know,” the individual says.

As the video continues, the individual is seen speaking to another fellow protester and asking if she is aware of why they are protesting.

“I wish I was more educated,” the second protester is heard saying.

Here’s the video:

Liberal Utopia: New California Law Could Terminate Up to 500,000 Jobs

By: Warner Todd Huston, The Western Journal — April 24th 2024 at 20:40

The leftist legislators in California have done it again, making things more difficult for the very low-income people they claimed to be helping, this time with a law that is throwing thousands of minimum wage earners out of their jobs.

As Ronald Reagan used to say, the scariest words in the English language are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help,” and California has once again proven that quip to be a hardbound truth.

Economics has always been a concept that liberals cannot understand. Deep-blue California’s recent passing of Assembly Bill 1228, forcing certain — but not all — fast-food restaurants to wildly raise their minimum wage by up to $4 an hour all at once, is having the unintended consequence of costing people their jobs, not enriching their lives.

As CNBC noted, the state has more than 500,000 fast-food workers, but now many of them are under threat of losing their jobs.

This month, the left coast state’s new $20-per-hour minimum wage took effect on the fast-food industry. Business owners have responded by putting in more electronic ordering devices and firing costly human employees.

The new wage hike comes on the tail of the disastrous COVID shutdowns that devastated the restaurant industry, causing profit margins to plummet. Just as restaurants in California were starting to regain their footing, the left-wing legislature weighed them down with this new wage law.

The warning by Burger King franchise owner Harsh Ghai is on target: Ghai said that the costly new wage law has forced him to put in place a plan to add electronic ordering kiosks at his 140 locations within two months, Business Insider reported.

Ghai even pointed out that prices for customers at fast-food places have gone up between eight and 10 percent in the past year, when prices usually only go up by about three percent a year. And this new wage law will make that problem worse.

“The majority of that is going to get absorbed in the inflation of our food costs,” he said of the higher costs the state is imposing on restaurants. “So we’re not even compensating for most of the labor costs that we’re going to be experiencing with this legislation.”

Ghai added that the higher prices — already in effect before the higher staffing costs began hitting business owners — are driving customers away. So, instead of raising prices further, the easiest way is to cut the number of employees.

The businessman added that he has revisited plans to roll out electronic, self-ordering kiosks over a 10-year period across his 140 locations and will now add them in a matter of months.

“[W]e are just going ahead and installing the kiosks in every single restaurant in response to the legislation to be able to balance some of these labor costs that are hitting us,” he said.

“We can’t move fast enough on this,” Ghai told Business Insider.

“We’ve done the financial analysis and it makes more sense for us to spend the capital expenditure on the technology, and obviously when you’re buying large amounts of the hardware, you obviously get it for a cheaper price as well,” he added.

“So it’s making more sense for us to just roll that across the business in its entirety,” he said.

Other restaurant chains have responded by firing hundreds of employees. A large number of pizza chains in California immediately fired their delivery drivers earlier this year after the law passed, including Pizza Hut and Southern California Pizza Co. stores in the state.

Many restaurants have even simply closed down rather than face barely scraping, by thanks to the higher costs imposed on them.

Still other restaurants are looking at plans to try locations that have no dining area and no cashiers at all. Chick-fil-A, for instance, is testing its “grab and go” locations where customers order exclusively online or via an app and pick up their order at a drive-through at a location with no cashiers and no eat-in area.

California’s left-wing legislature is causing every fast-food customer to dish out more for their food. But it is also costing tens of thousands of people their jobs. The legislature’s actions are having the exact opposite effect of what they intended.

With His Wife Indicted for Corruption, Spanish Socialist PM Sánchez Is Considering Resigning

By: Paul Serran — April 24th 2024 at 20:20

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez writes a ‘Letter to the citizenry’, and announces that he is ‘suspending all his public duties to stop and reflect on the future and decide whether he wants to continue to be at the forefront of politics’.

Sánchez ‘won’ the last election in an illegitimate way, after breaking a solemn campaign promise and establishing an artificial majority by enacting an amnesty to the Catalan Separatists.

Rea more in: WATCH: Spain Erupts at Socialist Legislative Coup, as PM Sanchez Offers Amnesty to Catalan Separatists – Two Nights of Riots – Big Demonstration Called for Sunday, and also: MASSIVE Protests in Spain Against Illegitimate Socialist PM Sanchez – Hundreds of Thousands Reject His Illegal and Unpopular Amnesty to Catalan Separatists

Now, as his wife is under investigation for influence peddling and corruption, Sánchez is indignant, threatening to resign his premiership because of what he calls political persecution.

Sanchez wrote on X:

“It is not usual for me to address you through a letter. However, the severity of the attacks that my wife and I are receiving, and the need to give a calm response, make me think that this is the best way to express my opinion. I thank you, therefore, for taking a little of your time to read these lines.

As you may already know, and if I do not inform you, a court in Madrid has opened preliminary proceedings against my wife, Begoña Gómez, at the request of a far-right organization called Clean Hands, to investigate alleged crimes of influence peddling and corruption in business.”

The judge in the case will call journalists that that have been covering the case to testify.

Sánchez said that his wife ‘will defend her honorability and will collaborate with Justice in everything required to clarify facts’ that he says ‘are as scandalous in appearance as they are non-existent’.

The case was initiated by Sánchez’ political rival Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Spanish People’s Party President, conservative member of the Congress of Deputies.

Feijóo reported the case to the Conflict of Interest Office, asking for the Prime Minister to be disqualified from holding public office.

Sánchez continues: “Next, they exploited their conservative majority in the Senate, promoting an investigative commission to, as they say, clarify the facts related to this matter. Logically, the case was missing. It is the step they have just taken.

In short, it is an operation of harassment and demolition by land, sea and air, to try to make me weaken politically and personally by attacking my wife.”

The ‘attacks’ are against what he represents: ‘a progressive political option, supported election after election by millions of Spaniards, based on economic progress, social justice and democratic regeneration.’

“Democracy spoke, but the right and the extreme right, again, did not accept the electoral result. They were aware that the political attack would not be enough and now they have crossed the line of respect for the family life of a President of the Government and the attack on his personal life.”

After a lot of complaining and painting his opponents in the worst colors, Sánchez gets to the point:

“At this point, the question I legitimately ask myself is, is all this worth it? Sincerely I dont know. This attack is unprecedented, it is so serious and so gross that I need to stop and reflect with my wife.

[…] I need to stop and reflect. I urgently need to answer the question of whether it is worth it. […] Whether I should continue at the head of the Government or resign from this high honor.”

On Wednesday, Israel Defense Forces carried out a large wave of strikes against 40+ sites belonging to the terror group.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that the military has killed half of Hezbollah’s commanders in southern Lebanon.

“The other half are hiding or abandoning southern Lebanon,” said Yoav Gallant.

He said there would be further action in the months to come: “The coming period will be decisive” as Israel is facing “a number of alternatives” to bring security to the north.

The Times of Israel reports:

“Half of the Hezbollah commanders in south Lebanon have been eliminated… and the other half hide and abandon south Lebanon to IDF operations,” Gallant said, after holding an assessment at the Northern Command headquarters in Safed with the chief of the command, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, and other top officers.

He said Israel’s main goal in the north was to return tens of thousands of Israelis displaced by Hezbollah’s daily attacks to their homes.

“We are dealing with a number of alternatives in order to establish this matter, and the coming period will be decisive in this regard,” Gallant said.

As the defense minister toured the Northern Command, the IDF said some 40 Hezbollah targets in the town of Ayta ash-Shab were hit within just several minutes by fighter jets and artillery shelling.

The strikes followed the terror group firing anti-tank missiles at northern Israel.

This was the reality in northern Israel this Passover morning.

Charges against one of the sixteen defendants were dropped in exchange for cooperating with prosecutors.

It was revealed during Wednesday’s hearing that President Trump, his former attorney Rudy Giuliani and former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were named as co-conspirators in Dana Nessel’s alternate electors indictment.

Howard Shock, a special agent for Dana Nessel’s office testified that Trump’s former lawyer Jenna Ellis is also an unindicted co-conspirator.

ABC News reported:

Former President Donald Trump, his former chief of staff Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani are unindicted co-conspirators in the Michigan attorney general’s case against the state’s so-called “fake electors” in the 2020 election, a state investigator revealed in court on Wednesday.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel charged 16 Republicans last year with forgery and conspiracy to commit election forgery for allegedly attempting to replace Michigan’s electoral votes for Joe Biden with electoral votes for Trump at the certification of the vote on Jan. 6, 2021.

During Wednesday’s hearing, which was part of preliminary examinations for the so-called fake electors, Howard Shock, a special agent for the attorney general’s office, also testified that former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis is also an unindicted co-conspirator.

Shock’s revelation was in response to questions from Duane Silverthorn, an attorney for Michele Lundgren, one of the so-called fake electors.

“Finally, former President Donald Trump?” asked Silverthorn.

“Yes,” Shock testified.

Victor Reacts: They Aren’t Hiding it Anymore, Biden Wants Mass Amnesty Before Election (VIDEO)

By: Victor Nieves — April 24th 2024 at 19:20

How obvious could they possibly make this? Joe Biden is now considering a mass amnesty strategy for over a million illegal aliens right before the 2024 election.

As reported by the Gateway Pundit,

Joe Biden is strongly considering granting over one million illegal aliens amnesty by the stroke of a pen just in time for the 2024 Presidential election and amid the worst immigration crisis in American history.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that this executive order would grant legalization to illegals married to U.S. citizens who are barred from receiving green cards.

The pro-illegal alien FWD.us notes that 1.1 million illegal aliens are currently married to American citizens.

The Daily Mail reports that the primary reasons these illegals were denied citizenship in these cases are because the individual has repeatedly entered the country illegally or forged legal documentation in the past.

To get around this “problem,” the Biden regime is looking at a so-called “parole in place” program for spouses of U.S. citizens not initially granted citizenship.

This status would ensure illegal aliens could obtain work permits and a path toward U.S. citizenship.

If you can’t win elections, all you have to do is simply import a million or so voters from foreign countries and grant them citizenship. The democrats aren’t even hiding their plans anymore, rather they are rubbing our faces in them and laughing. We are suffering through the worst immigration crisis in our lives as the democrats welcome in the foreign invaders knowing that they are tomorrows democrat voters.

BREAKING: Trump 2020 Alternate Electors Indicted in Arizona in Democrat AG Mayes’ Witch Hunt – Trump Listed as Unindicted Co-Conspirator!

By: Cristina Laila — April 24th 2024 at 19:00
Arizona AG Kris Mayes

Trump 2020 alternate electors, GOP state legislators, former Arizona GOP chairwoman Kelli Ward and others were indicted by a state grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday.

Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes announced on Wednesday afternoon. She defended her witch hunt and the curious timing of the indictment – just months before the 2024 general election. Make no mistake, the charges are a warning shot to anyone who may want to challenge the 2024 election.

“We conducted a thorough and professional investigation over the past 13 months into the fake electors scheme in our state,” Arizona’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a video announcing the charges. “I understand for some of you today didn’t come fast enough. And I know I’ll be criticized by others for conducting this investigation at all. But as I’ve stated before, and we’ll say here again, today, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined.”

WATCH:

Kris Mayes admitted last year she was investigating Trump’s 2020 alternate electors from Arizona.

In a dirty move, Mayes’ office knew the alternate electors were going to invoke their Fifth Amendment rights but she made them appear before a grand jury anyway. This is a highly unusual and risky move.

The Fifth Amendment allows a person to exercise their right to remain silent to protect against self-incrimination.

Democrat prosecutors requiring the Pro-Trump alternate electors to plead the Fifth before a grand jury could unnecessarily prejudice the grand jurors.

Although the Fifth Amendment is not an admission of guilt, grand jurors may assume the pro-Trump alternate electors are guilty.

The state grand jury on Wednesday indicted 11 Trump alternate electors, state legislators, GOP activists and others.

It appears Mark Meadows and possibly Rudy Giuliani or Michael Roman were also indicted, but their names were redacted.

President Trump was named “Unindicted Coconspirator-1” in the indictment because he made a phone call about the ballot counting to former governor Doug Ducey.

Other

Excerpt from NBC News:

A state grand jury in Arizona on Wednesday indicted so-called “fake electors” who backed then-President Donald Trump in 2020, following a sprawling investigation into the alleged efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s win in the presidential election in the state.

Among those charged is Kelli Ward, who served as chair of the Arizona GOP during the 2020 election and the immediate aftermath. She tweeted on Jan. 6, 2021, after the attack on the U.S. Capitol: “Congress is adjourned. Send the elector choice back to the legislatures.” Ward was a consistent propagator of false claims that Arizona’s election results were rigged.

Others charged include: state legislators Anthony Kern and Jake Hoffman; Michael Ward, Kelli Ward’s husband; Tyler Bowyer, the Republican National Committee’s Arizona committeeman and the chief operating officer of the Trump-aligned Turning Point USA; Greg Safsten, the former Arizona GOP executive director; former U.S. Senate candidate Jim Lamon; Robert Montgomery, the former head of the Cochise County GOP; and Republican Party activists Samuel Moorhead, Nancy Cottle and Loraine Pellegrino.

The indictment lists Trump as “Unindicted Coconspirator 1.” It also includes redacted names of other people who have been charged in the case but have not yet been served.

When the Democrats cast alternate electors it’s called ‘dueling electors.’ When the Republicans cast alternate electors it’s called ‘fake electors’ and indictments come down from crooked Democrat attorneys general.

Democrat prosecutors in other states are also targeting Trump’s alternate electors.

In July Democrat Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel criminally charged 16 dueling ‘Trump electors’ in the state’s 2020 election.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently indicted three of Trump’s alternate electors in Georgia as part of her RICO and conspiracy case against Trump.

Big Apple Brawl: Weapon-Wielding Migrants Beat the Tar Out of Each Other in Broad Daylight on the New York Streets (VIDEOS)

By: Cullen Linebarger — April 24th 2024 at 18:40
Video Image: @CANELATRD

Video footage captured the moment several migrants in New York City beat the tar out of each other earlier this week in broad daylight in Midtown.

The New York Post reported that over a dozen so-called asylum seekers faced off Sunday afternoon outside The Row Hotel on Eighth Avenue. An X user captured two separate brawl videos and posted them on his account.

The user who captured the videos identified them as Venezuelans, but this has not been confirmed.

The video opens with one migrant getting hit from behind with what appears to be a drink. They then start circling each other with two swinging their bats for several seconds.

The first part of the footage concludes with one of the fighters getting dragged to the ground and pounded one by three other migrants.

The second part of the video is arguably wilder, with the combatants using their own helmets as weapons in addition to bats. One migrant fighter is seen getting chased from the sidewalk to the street.

The footage also shows one yanked down onto the street in front of oncoming traffic. Four others kicked and hit him with bats while on the ground.

The final part shows a migrant being chased while being hit with the bats.

Undermining Burma’s Freedom Fighters: Debunking Harmful Conspiracy Theories

By: Antonio Graceffo — April 24th 2024 at 18:20

By Htawmonzel – Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0/Wikimedia

Antonio Graceffo Reporting from the Burma border

In the heart of Burma, where tens of thousands have sacrificed their lives, and millions have been displaced by the ruthless attacks of the junta forces, ethnic resistance armies, and people’s self-defense forces fight to establish a federal democracy with equal rights for the 135 ethnic minorities.

Sadly, misguided conspiracy theories about the 2021 elections and the ensuing military coup have cast a shadow over the noble efforts of those fighting for democracy. These groundless allegations have unfortunately led many Americans to mistakenly perceive the pro-democracy camp as villains, falsely accusing them of attempting to steal the election. Such misconceptions not only undermine the legitimate struggles of pro-democracy forces but also deter Americans from supporting the rebels or taking a more proactive stance against the junta.

On November 8, 2020, Myanmar witnessed its second consecutive democratic election. In a landslide victory, the pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi and her party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), secured re-election.

However, in February 2021, the military staged a coup, annulling the elections and detaining Aung San Suu Kyi along with prominent members of the party, including parliamentarians.

The most prominent conspiracy theory suggests that Burma utilized Dominion voting machines, alleging that Aung San Suu Kyi manipulated the machines to secure her victory. Some conspiracy theorists have even linked the Burmese election to the U.S. election, portraying the junta as the “good guys” in this narrative.

Firstly, Myanmar did not employ Dominion voting machines. Instead, they relied on paper ballots placed in wooden boxes, with approximately 80% of polling stations lacking electricity, let alone internet access. Secondly, aside from several very small ethnic minority parties that garnered minimal votes beyond their local regions, the election featured only two major parties: the National League for Democracy (NLD), led by Aung San Suu Kyi, and the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), backed by the military.

The people held a deep disdain for the army and harbored great admiration for Aung San Suu Kyi. It defies logic to suggest that after enduring a decades-long civil war to overthrow the army, they would then elect the very institution they sought to depose.

In 2021, following her arrest, Aung San Suu Kyi faced a range of charges leveled by the military junta. These accusations included illegally importing walkie-talkies, violating COVID-19 restrictions during the 2020 elections, and breaching a natural disaster law. The junta, albeit belatedly, asserted irregularities in the electoral process. However, international observers confirmed that while certain issues arose, such as ethnic minorities being denied voting rights due to lack of identification, there was no evidence of fraud. Furthermore, those unable to cast their votes would likely have supported Aung San Suu Kyi and the NLD. These charges were widely perceived as politically motivated and aimed at undermining her and her party.

A broader conspiracy alleges that Aung San Suu Kyi was involved in a nefarious alliance, purportedly collaborating with figures such as Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. The conspiracy extends to suggest that American Democrats stood to gain from Aung San Suu Kyi’s victory, with the term “deep state” frequently invoked in this narrative. Such claims border on absolute madness. In my interviews with numerous rebel soldiers, leaders, and civilians displaced by the junta, none were aware of any deep-state connections or the notion that they were somehow working for the Clintons. Their common sentiment revolved around their disdain for the junta’s violence and torture, all while longing for a democratically elected government.

Regarding the connection with Hillary Clinton, it’s important to note that the American Secretary of State regularly undertakes visits to numerous countries, with one of their key responsibilities being to advocate for democracy and monitor elections worldwide. Consequently, the Department of State releases reports evaluating the integrity of elections in various nations and the overall status of democracy globally. In this context, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s meeting with Aung San Suu Kyi before the 2015 elections holds significance, marking Myanmar’s inaugural democratic election, which saw Suu Kyi’s party secure a significant victory. Similarly, following Suu Kyi’s decisive win in the 2020 elections, then-Secretary Pompeo promptly issued a congratulatory message to Myanmar, acknowledging it as a pivotal moment in the country’s democratic progression.

Some of the more informed conspiracy theorists assert that Aung San Suu Kyi’s popularity waned between the two elections, pointing to the Rohingya genocide as evidence of her mismanagement of the country.

What actually occurred is that, prior to the 2015 election, the generals revised the constitution, allocating certain parliamentary seats as appointed positions. While the NLD secured the majority of democratically elected seats, the military maintained veto authority. Consequently, Aung San Suu Kyi found herself unable to pass any legislation without the army’s approval.

When news of the Rohingya genocide received sudden coverage in the international press, many Americans pointed fingers at Aung San Suu Kyi. To be fair, she did make controversial statements at the International Court of Justice, deflecting blame from the government. Some interpreted this as a shrewd political move to steer clear of conflict with the military, enabling her to stay in power and aid the country. While external observers often viewed this as complicity, she retained her popularity in Burma.

What I personally observed was a transition from unwavering support for Aung San Suu Kyi to a more pragmatic stance of choosing the better of two options. Many ethnic minorities, who previously revered “The Lady,” began to view her as preferable to military rule but recognized her imperfections. However, the crucial constant remained: nobody was willing to vote for the army.

The genocides targeting numerous ethnic groups have persisted long before Aung San Suu Kyi’s electoral victory and continue even as she remains imprisoned. Over one million Rohingya still languish in internally displaced people’s camps (IDP) within Burma and in dire refugee camps in Bangladesh. Neither Aung San Suu Kyi, Dominion, Hillary, Barry, nor Dizzy Joe played any part in the Rohingya genocide.

The people of Burma have been sacrificing their lives for 70 years to overthrow the military regime and establish a federal democracy. They are not affiliated with the deep state, nor are they in collusion with the Clintons or any external forces. They are simply individuals who seek an end to the government’s violence and the destruction of their villages. Moreover, they yearn for peace and the fundamental right to vote.

CBS News reported:

A Pro-Palestinian protest at University of Southern California’s Alumni Park that started Wednesday morning grew in size and intensity by the afternoon after campus police confronted the crowd and ordered the dismantling of the encampment.

Tensions grew after officers forced the protesters to take down their tents and a protester was detained.

The encampment went up at the park Wednesday morning, similar to other pro-Palestinian encampments that have been part of other college campuses across the nation.

The group issued a list of demands including university divestment from any organizations that “profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide and occupation in Palestine.”

Campus Department of Public Safety officers visited the encampment, instructed students not to hang signs, flags or other materials from trees and posts in the park, and warned them not to use megaphones.

WATCH: Schneider, Solomon Discuss ‘Most Comprehensive’ Report on Facebook’s Election Interference

By: Tom Olohan — April 24th 2024 at 17:42
MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider addressed over a decade of rampant Facebook election interference in a conversation with Just the News founder John Solomon.  During the April 24 edition of Just the News, No Noise, Schneider went after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerburg and Facebook for 39 instances of election interference between 2008 and 2024. “Facebook has engaged in censorship over and over and over,” Schneider said in response to an MRC Special Report. The report demonstrated a pattern of Facebook censoring free speech, including silencing criticism of President Barack Obama’s handling of the fall of the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi and muzzling Republican candidates for office during the 2022 midterm elections.  Solomon praised the “extraordinary detail” of the study and called it the “most comprehensive review of Facebook’s interventions.” In response to a question from co-host Amanda Head, Schneider pointed out that these 39 instances are just the tip of the iceberg of Facebook censorship, but emphasized that they are serious, carefully researched examples of Facebook putting its thumb on the electoral scale.  Schneider said, “Well of course there are thousands of instances of Facebook censoring people, the great bulk of them are conservatives. But these are the 39 times that we've found where it's clear that they were meddling in the election, that they were trying to sway the election.”  The MRC Free Speech America vice president went on to refer to a video exposing insane bias within Facebook staff. “And we've got quotes from their own internal staff saying, “‘Yeah, you know the CEO, he may claim that that it's a free speech platform but we are not going to allow Trump to win the election again.’ That kind of language is being used internally,” said Schneider. Expanding on his remarks, Schneider added: “Mark Zuckerberg has said to us, to us conservatives that the people of Facebook … don't understand who conservatives are or what we believe.’ They only understand the will to power and to use their company to try to promote, you know, the next president of the United States. Conservatives are under attack! Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on hate speech and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Absolutely Vile: Joe Biden Makes Sign of the Cross at Abortion Rally in Florida

By: Margaret Flavin — April 24th 2024 at 17:40
Vile: Joe Biden Makes Sign of the Cross at Abortion Rally in Florida

On Tuesday, Biden traveled to Tampa, Florida, to participate in a campaign event and give a speech at Hillsborough Community College.

After wrapping his speech at Hillsborough, Biden headed over to a campaign office in Tampa where he peppered amongst a litany of lies about his life, time to cheerlead for abortion and thoroughly enrage Catholics.

During the rally, an abortion promoter voiced complaints about Florida’s six-week limit for abortions, during which Biden turned his back on his faith and his God and made the sign of the cross.

Catholic Vote condemned his disgusting politicization of faith sharing on X, “This. Is. VILE!”

They continued, “You cannot be Catholic and support abortion! You cannot invoke GOD and promote Death!”

Watch:

This. Is. VILE!

— CatholicVote (@CatholicVote) April 23, 2024

Catholic Vote’s President Brian Burch said, in a statement, “Biden’s decision to make the Sign of the Cross in support of abortion extremism is a despicable charade that attempts to co-opt a sacred practice in support of his new abortion religion. His gesture openly mocks the Christian belief in the sanctity of life.”

“There is no divine support for destroying the lives of innocent children, and he should know better. Biden’s gesture suggests he is either terribly naive, or senile, or callously indifferent to the foundational beliefs of millions of Christians in America.”

Biden’s commitment to Catholic doctrine and teachings has been called into question by many within the Church.

On April 5, Michigan Bishop Robert Gruss of the Diocese of Saginaw lectured at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption and discussed Biden.

Gruss said that as far as his opinion of Biden, he pities him.

“I don’t have any anger towards the president. I feel sorry for him. I’m not angry at him, he’s just stupid,” Gruss said.

The congregation laughed again, prompting Gruss to clarify, “It’s not stupidity in the derogatory way, it’s stupidity in the sense of […] he doesn’t understand the Catholic faith.”

Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God, formerly Rosalind Moss, a Catholic nun, publicly criticized Joe Biden, calling him “inept and evil” and suggesting that reelecting former President Donald Trump would be “an act of God.”

Wilton Cardinal Gregory, the Washington Archdiocese, called Biden a ‘cafeteria Catholic.’

“I would say that he’s very sincere about his faith. But like a number of Catholics, he picks and chooses dimensions of the faith to highlight while ignoring or even contradicting other parts. There is a phrase that we have used in the past, a ‘cafeteria Catholic’ — you choose that which is attractive, and dismiss that which is challenging,” the Archbishop said.

CNN Analyst Demands Colleges ‘Allow Space’ for Anti-Semitic Rallies

By: Nicholas Fondacaro — April 24th 2024 at 17:36
Anti-Semitic and pro-Hamas rallies have been spreading like hateful wildfire across American universities, with encampments spouting up in UT Austin and Harvard on Wednesday. And on CNN News Central that afternoon, Harvard professor and former Obama DHS official Juliette Kayyem demanded that universities like hers “allow space” for those mini-Nuremberg rallies. “And I'm pretty clear about this,” Kayyem declared. She demanded that schools “allow space for students to protest” in favor of Hamas. Essentially her defense of the students was ‘kid will be kids.’ “This should not be a shock to anyone with teenagers or young, young adult children. They have strong feelings and they’re passionate,” she argued. Coddling the anti-Semites, Kayyem said they needed to be given “off ramps” before the schools cracked down on any violent rhetoric or other misconduct. As if the students didn’t agree to a Student Code of Conduct when they joined the school, she huffed: “You've got to give students rules about what they are and are not allowed to do. And maybe this happened at USC, but they have to be clear about, ‘Yes, you can protest. No, you can't block a building and this is what's going to happen if you block the building.’” She did admit that at some point the schools might need to consider when to get police involved. “I mean in other words, these kids who are violating these rules these students then have some sort of punishment and whether you need the police or something less than that is each college and university’s decision,” she said.     But a few minutes later, Kayyem proved herself to be a hypocrite and declared schools “cannot” get the police involved at all. She whined they were “terrifying students" who were just "expressing their dismay with the war”: What are the rules of engagement? We cannot put police officers, especially non-university police officers, as we've seen in some of these jurisdictions, just out there fully armed, terrifying students who are maybe they just viewed themselves as just expressing their dismay with the war or their criticisms of the Biden administration. That wasn’t the only way Kayyem was a hypocrite on the issue. In 2022, she opposed the Canadian “Freedom Convoy” that was protesting their county’s COVID restrictions by blocking critical roads. She lashed out at them and demanded authorities “slash the tires” of their semi-trucks. “Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks,” she wrote. “The notion that these are rational people that will change if asked is long gone,” she sneered in a follow-up post. “This disruption is an irrational gang and, again, we should stop being so nice.” Kayyem also used to have a hair-trigger when it came to antisemitism. In 2019, she accused former New York City Mayor Ruby Giuliani of “antisemitism” when he called out Democratic Party dark-money donor George Soros. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: CNN News Central April 24, 2024 3:10:55 p.m. Eastern (…) JULIETTE KAYYEM: And so, colleges and universities have to do three things. And I'm pretty clear about this. One, is they do have to allow space for students to protest. I said you've got to give them an outlet. The students are allowed to protest. This should not be a shock to anyone with teenagers or young, young adult children. They have strong feelings and they’re passionate. Because if you just immediately go to arrest, it's going to cause I think some of the what we're seeing on air which is nothing's happening. And then lots is happening. You want to give students space as long as you're protecting students who want to go to classes, Jewish students, if they’re targeted. The second is you have to have off ramps. You have to, in terms of these colleges and universities you've got to give students rules about what they are and are not allowed to do. And maybe this happened at USC, but they have to be clear about, “Yes, you can protest. No, you can't block a building and this is what's going to happen if you block the building.” And then third is, of course, then exert your outcomes, right? I mean in other words, these kids who are violating these rules these students then have some sort of punishment and whether you need the police or something less than that is each college and university’s decision. (…) 3:14:13 p.m. Eastern KAYYEM: What are the rules of engagement? We cannot put police officers especially non-university police officers, as we've seen in some of these jurisdictions, just out there fully armed, terrifying students who are maybe they just viewed themselves as just expressing their dismay with the war or their criticisms of the Biden administration. So, what are the rules of engagement? The second is, is there – is there a reach out as we're seeing in some of these colleges and universities to these student organizations to engage them on what is and is not appropriate activity? In other words, we don't have to treat the protesters as enemies. They just disagree with the institution or they disagree with the government. And that can help de-escalate as well. And then third, is the punishment that we're talking about. If someone is violent, if someone is threatening students, if someone ought not to be there and is exacerbating the tensions. (…)

Election Year Pandering: Nets Spend 22 Mins Peddling Biden Propaganda to Voters

By: Curtis Houck — April 24th 2024 at 17:36
On Wednesday, ABC, CBS, and NBC combined for a whopping 22 minutes and 18 seconds on their lead morning shows playing Baghdad Bobs and Barbies, touting the Biden regime as dedicated to the American people with segments on their fight to ban non-complete clauses in the workplace, cracking down on airlines slow-walking refunds when things go wrong, expanding overtime rules, and letting women murder their babies at will. When including its third-hour, NBC’s Today came out on top with 10 minutes and 55 seconds. It started with the Biden administration fighting to ensure baby murder remains easily accessible in Idaho. Co-host Hoda Kotb touted the “blockbuster” Supreme Court arguments “concerning reproductive rights, raising the legal and political stakes headed into the November election.” Senior Washington correspondent Hallie Jackson hyped the case as part of an issue that will have “enormous” “stakes” on the outcome of the election. She eagerly adopted the Biden administration’s framing and even referred to an expecting mother as “a pregnant patient”. She at least gave a soundbite to the great Roger Severino with our friends at the Heritage Foundation (click “expand”): JACKSON: The question: whether a federal law guaranteeing emergency care for patients overrides an Idaho law banning most abortions with exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother. The Biden administration saying that federal law should take precedence, arguing Idaho’s law requires doctors to wait until the health of a pregnant patient gets worse before performing an abortion. But Idaho’s attorney general, in a statement, accuses the administration of showing a “reckless disregard for Idaho’s right to protect life.” SEVERINO: The Biden administration has twisted this law. [SCREEN WIPE] They’re trying to use federal executive power when the law does not support it. This is beyond the breaking point and I’m hopeful the Supreme Court will rein them back in. JACKSON: And with Idaho allowed to enforce the near total abortion ban for now, many OBGYNs are leaving the state, including Dr. Lauren Miller, who moved her practice to Colorado. She says Idaho’s law has created a dilemma for doctors. (....) JACKSON: The legal fight raising political stakes heading into the November upcoming election with voters in 11 states likely to decide abortion rights on ballot measures this fall. President Biden, in Florida Tuesday, slamming that state’s six-week abortion ban set to go into effect six days from now and blaming his predecessor. The show went next to the daily messaging from the Department of Transportation. Co-host Savannah Guthrie touted the “big news regarding air travel” with co-host Craig Melvin adding “it could affect folks in a good way.” Longtime transportation correspondent Tom Costello even explicitly said he’d be providing “the bullet points coming from the Biden administration” about their desire to have airlines “provid[e] compensation quickly to passengers who are owed money from an airline and if that passenger declines other alternative transportation needs or credits” that’ll be “cutting through all of the clutter and making it very clear what the rules are for every airline.” Costello and Melvin then focused on the other piece with fee transparency, the latest step in Biden’s ongoing obsession with ending so-called junk fees. In the 3rd Hour of Today, Costello returned for more banter and praising the regime for these crackdowns. ABC’s Good Morning America came next with six minutes and 33 seconds over four segments.  Like NBC, they began with abortion. Congressional correspondent Rachel Scott passed along the Biden Justice Department’s arguments and stomped on a single sentence provided to the opposition, which led into a nauseating love letter voiced by chief White House correspondent and chief Biden apple polisher Mary Bruce (click “expand”): SCOTT: And the stakes here are high. This is the first time that the Supreme Court is considering the scope of a state’s abortion ban since Roe vs. Wade was overturned. At the center of the case is Idaho. The state bans abortions in nearly all cases. It does include a narrow exception to save the life of the mother. But the Justice Department is arguing that, even in states where abortion is banned under federal health care law, hospitals are still required to terminate pregnancy if the patient’s life or health is at serious risk. The Justice Department is pointing to a law from decades ago before Roe vs. Wade was overturned that was originally created to ensure patients who do not have insurance are turned away from hospitals. Anti-abortion rights advocates argue that the Biden administration is misusing this law to try to justify abortions. On the other side, though, we have talked to doctors and patients who told us they are caught in a web of confusing laws. Some doctors have told us they have questioned whether or not their patient is sick enough before they can even provide life saving care. And doctors, of course, face serious penalties, loss of license, fines, and, in some cases, even prison time. And, all of this is playing out in the back drop of an election year where the Biden administration is hoping to use this to energize voters ahead of a very critical, George. GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Okay, Rachel, on that point, President Biden is targeting Donald Trump over abortion rights, blasting him yesterday at a Florida campaign event over a six week abortion ban going into effect in the state next week. [BIDEN CLIP] (....) BRUCE: Well, President Biden is eager to put the issue of abortion front and center in this campaign. As you heard there, he is trying to make Donald Trump own this, blaming him for the new restrictions and bans that we are seeing across the country. Yesterday, in that speech in Florida, the president’s first major campaign address on this issue, by our count at least a dozen times the President argued Trump should be held accountable and is to blame for us. Now, Donald Trump has bragged about overturning Roe vs. Wade, appointing the three justices who helped strike it down. And since then, 21 states have now enacted tough new restrictions and bans. The former President, though, said this should be up to the states. He says they are handling it brilliantly. President Biden, obviously, strongly disagrees. He says Trump has to be held accountable and he is hoping this issue will drive voters to the polls in November. He is well aware that every time this issue has been on the ballot since Roe was struck down, abortion rights have won. Bruce’s North Korean-state-run-media behavior went right into ABC’s airlines segment. Co-host Robin Roberts proclaimed that “[t]he Biden administration [is] taking action this morning to protect airline consumers” with “[n]ew rules that mandate automatic refunds.” “This is a major change from the Department of Transportation. And, again, it affects your money,” said transportation correspondent Gio Benitez at the start of his report. In the second hour, ABC made sure to reiterate all the supposedly great things a President running for a second term has done for Americans. This time, correspondent Elizabeth Schulze held up a vote by the Biden Federal Trade Commission “that could make it easier for workers to quit their jobs”. “The FTC voting to ban non-compete agreements, which prevent workers from switching jobs to work for a rival company. The nationwide ban means workers applying for a new job wouldn’t be forced to sign a non-compete and almost all existing non-compete clauses would be voided,” she added. For good measure, Schulze also shared a Biden Labor Department initiative that’ll be “a major expansion of overtime” which, starting in July, will see the salary threshold of workers eligible for overtime rise to $44,000 ahead of a $60,000 ceiling in January. CBS Mornings clocked in third with a still-strong four minutes and 50 seconds of stenography. After a segment about the Senate passing the bill to force TikTok to be sold from its Chinese parent company (or be banned in the U.S.), co-host Tony Dokoupil brought up the airlines and FTC stories as other examples of “words turning into action in Washington” with “[s]ome big changes there that could have an effect on millions of Americans”. Transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave and senior tech correspondent Jo Ling Kent came next doubling as regime mouthpieces (click “expand”): VAN CLEAVE: The next time you run into travel troubles, you could be eligible for a cash refund. These new Department of Transportation rules that will be going into effect say you can get a refund for a canceled flight, but if you’re delayed more than three hours for a domestic flight or more than six hours internationally, you can also get a refund if you choose not to fly. Also, bag fees must be refunded if a checked bag is significantly delayed, and refund must be given if any services you paid for aren’t provided like broken wi-fi. Airlines are also required now to disclose what fees they charge up front for things like a checked bag, a carry-on bag, a cancel or change fee. Now, most airlines in the U.S. already do that. These new rules will be phased in over the next 12 months[.] (....) KENT: [T]he Federal Trade Commission wants to make it easier for you to get a new job. It plans on banning non-compete clauses, and those are the parts of employer contracts that bar workers across industries from leaving for a competitor or starting a competing business. Now, some saying non-competes help employers protect their trade secrets and allow them to invest in training for employees without fear of losing them, while others argue the clauses are overly restrictive on the workers. The FTC says its ban would translate to $524 more each year for the average worker, yield as many as 29,000 more patents, and create at least 8,500 new businesses. But, of course, this is not set in stone yet. The U.S. Chamber of commerce called the ban an unlawful power grab and said it would sue the FTC to block it. CBS conveniently and immediately pivoted to abortion, but longtime Supreme Court correspondent Jan Crawford kept it straight (as usual). While she said “the Biden administration is challenging Idaho’s pretty strict restrictions with a really creative legal argument”, she also gave two soundbites to Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador (R) to defend his state’s pro-life law. Virginia County Repeatedly Released Illegal Alien Charged with Sex Crimes Against a Child, Ignoring ICE Detainer Requests

By: Cassandra MacDonald — April 24th 2024 at 17:20

Fairfax County, Virginia, repeatedly released an illegal alien who has been charged with sex crimes against a child, completely ignoring detainer requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The unnamed 30-year-old Honduran national was arrested in Bladensburg, Maryland, on April 15 — after being released by Fairfax County twice.

“This Honduran noncitizen stands accused of some very serious crimes and represented a threat to the children of the Washington, D.C. area,” ICE said in a press release.

“When local jurisdictions have policies in place which prohibit them from cooperating with ICE ERO and from honoring our lawfully issued detainers and administrative warrants, they put the suspects, law enforcement officers, and most importantly, the members of our local communities at risk.”

It is unknown when the man first came to the United States, but he was arrested for the first time on July 5, 2023. He was charged with felony carnal knowledge of a child 13 to 14 years of age, without force.

ICE placed an immigration detainer on him, but the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center “did not honor” the request. He was released from custody on a $10,000 bond on July 10, 2023.

Fox News reports, “Fairfax County police arrested the man again in February and charged him with two additional counts of felony carnal knowledge of a child 13 to14 years of age without force, and two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child less than 15 years of age.”

“The jail then released the man from custody later that same day before ERO could file an immigration detainer.”

The predator will now remain in ICE custody during the removal proceedings.

US Gives TikTok an Ultimatum: Sell or Wave American Market Goodbye

By: Gabriela Pariseau — April 24th 2024 at 17:08
TikTok might be on its way out of America if it does not separate from its ties to the communist Chinese government. After House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-AL) maneuvered to include a TikTok ultimatum in a bipartisan foreign aid package, President Joe Biden signed H.R.815 Wednesday. The foreign aid spending bill forces TikTok’s  Chinese-controlled parent company, ByteDance to divest itself from TikTok, or risk being banned from the U.S. The legislation also penalizes app stores and web hosting services that carry foreign adversary-controlled apps or websites to American users barring divestiture. The law applies not just to Chinese-controlled apps, but also to those controlled by Russia, Iran and North Korea. TikTok must divest itself from China if it wants to do business in the United States. We at the MRC have been consistent from the beginning. TikTok is a national security threat. @BrentBozell pic.twitter.com/FfSh1futU3 — Media Research Center (@theMRC) March 12, 2024 The new law empowers Biden to effectively block TikTok from doing business in the U.S. if ByteDance does not sell it to a company not based out of the forenamed countries.  The legislation gives TikTok nine months to decide whether or not to divest, which ends notably just after the 2024 presidential election. Biden, who endorsed the TikTok provision, can even grant an additional three-month grace period. Biden, however, will have to do more than sign a bill to prove he is serious about banning TikTok. As MRC has repeatedly noted, the president has actively used TikTok for his 2024 presidential campaign. To date, he has posted 149 TikTok videos even though he issued an executive order two years ago barring federal employees from using the app on government-issued devices. 🚨 @SpeakerJohnson won a victory for America's security, but now our Commander-in-Chief needs to abide by both the spirit and the letter of the law. President Biden has signed into law the bill requiring TikTok to separate itself from its masters at the Chinese Communist Party,… — Media Research Center (@theMRC) April 24, 2024 “Biden wants to have it both ways,” MRC wrote in a statement. “He wants to run out in front of the parade to eliminate a serious security threat from America’s biggest adversary while simultaneously using TikTok in a lame attempt to lure back voters who have grown tired of his failed policies.” When legislation targeting foreign adversary apps was first introduced by the House, in March, MRC President Brent Bozell came out in support of the bill. “It is absolutely correct and necessary for TikTok to divest itself of any control from the communist Chinese government in China if it wants to do business in the United States,” he said. While the bill puts great emphasis on national security concerns associated with the communist Chinese government-tied TikTok app, some Republicans and free speech advocates fear that it could be abused in ways that may hinder freedom of speech with regard to other platforms. The law will fine violating app stores and web hosting services $5,000 per user for violations of the provision. X owner Elon Musk and Reps. Thomas Massie (R- WV) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) have voiced concern that if the legislation is abused, it could lead to more online censorship. In an interview with Newsmax’s First Edition, MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider addressed similar concerns about government overreach and abuse. He said critics were “right to be concerned especially with Biden sitting there in the white house with all the 25-year-olds who are pulling the strings and moving his mouth and lips.” Schneider added, however, that “under our constitution, the president is the one who controls our foreign policy and right now China is such a threat to America that they are actively infiltrating America both with troops and with data, scouring the internet for all our information. They are working aggressively to control us and TikTok is their number one tool and it’s got to be stopped.   Conservatives are under attack. Trump Hater Paul Ryan Praises Mike Johnson for Passing Biden’s Agenda, Giving $95 Billion Away to Secure Foreign Borders

By: Jordan Conradson — April 24th 2024 at 16:40

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan praised current Speaker Mike Johnson this week for turning his back on the Republican party and bringing a $95 billion foreign aid package, including $61 billion for Ukraine, to the House Floor last week.

The package led to the passing of three bills aimed at providing financial aid to Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, and other regions engaged in conflicts outside U.S. borders. Following passage, Democrats waved Ukrainian flags on the floor of the United States House of Representatives as they voted to send $60 BILLION of taxpayer money to secure a foreign border.

The package Johnson announced Wednesday includes terms allowing the President to cancel 50% of Ukraine’s debt after November 15, 2024, and the remaining 50% after January 1, 2024. It’s no wonder why Joe Biden came out “strongly” in support of the package, urging the House and Senate to pass it.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) revealed that only $44 to $47 billion–40%–of the $113 billion that the United States has handed out to Ukraine is lethal aid.” So what was the other 66 to $69 billion for?” Roy asked on Bannon’s War Room.

Still, Johnson told the media in a recent press conference that he did “the right thing.”

The Gateway Pundit reported that Johnson’s betrayal of the conservative agenda could be explained by the fact that one of his top handlers aides, Policy Director Dan Ziegler, is a former lobbyist with clients who have a financial interest in Ukraine aid.

This latest move by Paul Ryan could be tied to Johnson’s deputy chief of staff for communications, Raj Shah, who previously worked at Fox Corporation with Ryan. According to Breitbart, “Shah’s communications were among those revealed in the legal matter between Fox News and Dominion, in which he was regularly listed as a top official there alongside Ryan.”

Shah has also been seen recently elevating Never Trumpers on social media and attacking America First Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).

$60 Billion to Ukraine Explained: Mike Johnson’s Top Policy Adviser is Former Lobbyist for Clients With Corporate Interest in Ukraine Aid

Paul Ryan and Fox never liked Donald Trump, so it makes sense that they and their affiliates would sabotage the America First agenda.

Per Breitbart:

Paul Ryan, a member of the Fox Corporation Board of Directors, praised House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for permitting Democrats to seize control of the House last week.

Democrats steamrolled Johnson by successfully pushing Biden administration’s agenda through the House. Johnson gave Biden “pretty much everything” Biden asked for “without having to concede much in return,” Punchbowl reported.

The Democrat victory was a reminder of how some Republicans often decline to use their capacity to push conservative policies popular with the base. Democrats often appear to use their power without qualms.

Johnson “found his footing, and his voice. … [H]e did it as a statesman, risking his own personal political fortune for the greater good that he believes in,” Ryan told Axios Tuesday.

MI AG Investigator Babbles Incoherently Under Oath…Can’t Explain Why He Subpeonaed Give Send Go For Names and Bank Account Routing Numbers of Donors Who Contributed To Fund For 2020 GOP Electors

By: Patty McMurray — April 24th 2024 at 16:20

Michigan’s iron-fisted Democrat Attorney General Dana Nessel’s criminal case against 15 MI GOP electors to for President Trump in 2020 is literally falling apart.

The Whitmer-appointed Judge Kristin E. Simmons is presiding over the case, which is on its sixth day and is being heard in Ingham County Court. So far, Judge Simmons has conducted herself in a very fair and thorough manner.

The partisan hack attorney general’s special investigator, Howard Shock, appeared to be caught with his pants down in court today when asked by one of the defense attorneys why he had issued a search warrant for the names and personal banking information of donors to Give Send Go accounts used to help raise money for the wrongfully charged elector’s legal defense.

You’ve got to give Democrat MI AG Dana Nessel credit. When she wants to destroy her party’s political enemies, like a heat-seeking missile, she is able to find precisely the right people who will help her accomplish her goals. Suppose MI AG Special Agent Howard Shock was someone hand-selected by Dana Nessel to investigate and help prove her ridiculous criminal case against 15 primarily senior citizens who cast an alternate slate of electoral votes for President Trump in the 2020 election. In that case, she likely regrets her decision after today’s pre-trial hearing.

MI AG Dana Nessel, whom legal experts claim has already tainted the case, was recently caught on video joking to a radical group during an online discussion about the location of the court where the case for 15 GOP electors would be heard. During her comments, AG Nessel suggested that because the demographics in Lansing tend to heavily favor Democrats, the electors would likely not have a favorable jury pool.

“Eventually, those cases will be tried in Ingham County, which is very different than Antrim County,” Nessel told the group, in reference to the innocent men who were exonerated in the FBI-led kidnapping plot of MI Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “Ingham County, where Lansing is located, is a very, very Democratic-leaning county.”

The highly partisan AG also claimed the MI GOP electors had been “brainwashed” and “genuinely believed” Trump won Michigan’s 2020 presidential election. “They legit believe that. They genuinely believe it,” Nessel to the radical leftist group.

Today, while being questioned by MI GOP elector Kathy Berden’s attorney, Howard Shock, Dana Nessel’s special investigator on the MI GOP alternate electors case, absolutely fell apart when he was asked about why he obtained a search warrant from Ingham County District Court Judge Cynthia Ward asking the Christian crowdfunding source Give Send Go was to provide the names, bank account numbers, bank routing numbers and donor amounts of individuals who contributed the to defense of the MI GOP electors.

Judge Cynthia Ward signed the search warrant to obtain the Give Send Go records related to fundraising for the legal funds of MI GOP electors, who’ve been accused by Nessel.

To their credit, Give Send Go reportedly refused to comply with the search warrant issued to them by AG Nessel’s office.

Special Investigator Howard Shock sent a letter to Give Send Go on August 3; warning Give Send Go not to disclose the existence of the letter from the MI AGs office: “You are also requested not to disclose the existence of this request to the subscriber or any other person, other than as necessary to comply with this request.

At about the 47-minute mark, the lawyer representing MI GOP elector and RNC Committeewoman Kathy Berden destroys Dana Nessel’s special investigator, who, under oath, attempts to explain why he subpoenaed Give Send Go for records showing the names, donor amounts, bank account numbers, and routing numbers of individuals who contributed to the criminal defense funds of the alternate electors.

Berden’s lawyer asked Mr. Shock about the affidavits he prepared in support of obtaining the shocking search warrant that was given to Give Send Go.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: “In regard to signing this affidavit, you relied on the lawyer’s advice to sign it. We talked about the fact that you prepared a search warrant for records from Facebook OR META. And you also prepared search warrants in this investigation, correct?”

AG Investigator Howard Shock: Yes.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: And one of those search warrants that you asked the court to authorize was with Give Send Go?

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: In that regard, you had to list in your search warrant all of the items you were looking for—-that you wanted to seize. The information that you wanted from the GSG account information, or I should say bank account information, of individuals who included who donated money to these accounts, correct?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: I don’t recall specifically that information.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: Can you think—- if you asked for the bank account information of the donors, what information that would be relevant to your investigation would it provide you?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: So, there is a lot of information that I request without referring to the affidavit itself. I don’t recall, as I said yesterday, a lot of information to show ownership to the account. The accounts can also be created—-they can be edited so that the statements that are made in the accounts can be edited as well, so like, for example, when social media posts can be edited. And you’re looking for an audit trail of the edits.

So again, as I said yesterday, I was focused on statements and associated information I was also asking for is ownership of who created the account and to connect those statements or the account holder with that information.

Ms. Berden’s lawyer asked him to explain how GSG works.

AG Investigator Howard Shock: I don’t know specifically the procedures that GSG has in place.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: Is it your understanding that GSG records who gave money and how much?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: Yes.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: Can you think of why you would want to know the names of the donors or the bank account information of the donors as opposed to just the owner of the GSG account? Why would you care who gave me money?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: So, GSG uses a third party to handle their financial transactions. That’s what I learned on the return information. So, I did not submit a search warrant for the third-party financial statements because I’m focused on the statements and how those statements are tied to the defendants and to show ownership. So that’s the information I’m focused on.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: So why would you want to know the names of the donors?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: I just explained. I can explain it again. To show the ownership of the account. As we asked for information, I’m trying to connect the person that made statements on that account to the people who are, may have edited it, may have created it. I’m trying to show ownership there.

Berden asked a hypothetical question, “So, you want to know how much money is in my account at GSG?”

Shock responded, “I’m not concerned about the amount of money that’s going into your account. I’m concerned and focused on who owns the account and statements that are made.”

GSG uses a third party to handle the transactions

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: But you are concerned about the people who gave money to the account.

AG Investigator Howard Shock: I don’t recall.

The judge jumped in and addressed Mr. Shock directly. She admitted she was confused by how asking for the donor’s personal banking information would establish ownership of the GSG account when he could have just asked Give Send Go for the name of the account’s owner.

Mr. Shock’s answer was disjointed and incoherent: “So the donors—-I’m not concerned about. I’m concerned about the path—the money coming—so that I am concerned about it in terms of, so, how do I describe this?”

AG Investigator Howard Shock, who appeared to understand that there was no logical way to explain his way out of this serious situation while under oath, rambled incoherently, “So I’m trying to articulate in a manner that shows a pathway so that just like that META data we talked about on social media —-social media—-It shows dates, time stamps, the transfer of information. I’m looking for the same thing with this type of account. So that’s why I’m concerned about the donor of the account, or the donor and where that money is going into her account.”

I don’t know how that really answers the question because you’re asking for the bank account of someone who’s not a defendant.

AG Investigator Howard Shock: No. I’m asking for the bank account information of the defendant.

Kathy Berden’s lawyer: That’s not what it says in your search warrant, did it?

AG Investigator Howard Shock: That’s what I interpreted as.

The judge asked the defendant directly if he asked for the routing numbers of the donors.

“I’m asking for all routing numbers and bank account numbers,” he said.

Again, the judge asked for clarification: ” Yes or no? Did you ask for the routing numbers of the donors?”

Shock responded, “Yes,” and immediately responded, “No—-I’m asking for the donors.”

The judge called for a break.

Watch:

After the break, the questioning about the Give Send Go search warrant continued, as Mr. Shock continued to be unsuccessful in his attempts to explain why he was attempting to violate the rights of private citizens in his witch hunt against the alternate slate of electors.

If you’d like to contribute

According to documents obtained by The Detroit News, the warrant required GiveSendGo to hand over information on contributions, bank routing numbers and communications tied to 10 of the MI GOP alternate electors who used the crowdfunding site to raise funds for their legal defense.

The three-page search warrant doesn’t indicate how the fundraising might violate Michigan law, and it comes after Nessel’s office sought to prevent the public release of search warrant documents in another high-profile investigation in Ingham County. The search warrant in the elector cases says the details “will assist with the ongoing investigation” into election law forgery, forgery of a public record, conspiracy, and uttering and publishing.

According to a report from Howard Shock, special agent for the Attorney General’s Criminal Investigation Division, he began investigating the fundraising efforts of the false electors on July 20 to “determine if it was lawful.”

Shock wrote that he learned from a post on social media that two of the false electors, Meshawn Maddock of Milford and Marian Sheridan of West Bloomfield, were benefiting from a Give Send Go page that was collecting contributions.

Craig Mauger, a reporter for the Detroit News reporter, who also frequenlty doubles as a public relations hire for the Democrat Party, shared a portion of a report revealing that AG Nessel’s office has asked Twitter to preserve private messages between a far-left Twitter account that “flagged” the Give Send Go fundraiser site for 2 of the 16 electors and a “preservation letter to Give Send Go to preserve evidence in the account Fake Electors.”

Shock does not say if he received the requested communication from Twitter. He only states that he uploaded the 7/20/23 confirmation letter from Twitter.
