A woman brought a 68-year-old man who was dead, in a wheelchair, to a bank branch to try to take out a loan in his name. The bizarre incident occurred on Tuesday, April 16, at a bank branch in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She conducted the conversation on behalf of the deceased man and raised suspicions among those present. Identified as Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes, she was taken to the police station, where she claimed to be the niece and caregiver of the elderly man.

Vieira Nunes’s behavior caught the attention of bank employees, who began filming the dialogue she had with her uncle, who did not respond to her commands. She asked the elderly man to sign a paper authorizing the bank to lend him approximately $3,200.

In the “conversation” she asked the supposed relative:

“Uncle, are you listening? You need to sign, sir. If you don’t sign, there’s no way. I can’t sign for you, what I can do, I’ll do”.

Watch the moment (subtitled in English):

When the customer did not react, the bank employees called the emergency services. Paramedics arrived at the financial institution and found that the man, identified as Paulo Roberto Braga, 68, had been dead for several hours.

The police were called to the scene, where they arrested Erika de Souza for the crimes of fraud and desecration of a corpse and she could be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison.

If Israel responds, Iran threatens ‘severe, extensive and painful’ response – IRANIANS ISSUE NEW THREAT

Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi.

Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, reiterated a major threat against Israel, stating that any action against the country’s interests will receive a severe response. The information was published by the Iranian Republican News Agency ISNA, on Tuesday, April16.

Raisi’s threat comes after the Israeli Army stated that it will respond to Iran’s attacks ‘with actions, not words,’ as earlier reported by TGP.

According to ISNA, the Iranian President emphasized the need to take deterrent measures against the conflict in the Gaza Strip. He also criticized the support of some Western countries for Israel.

Raisi also stated that Iran’s attack on Israel falls within its legitimate right to self-defense and in response to Israeli attacks on its interests, especially the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

The president further said that his country considers ‘peace and stability’ in the region essential for Iranian national security, emphasizing that Iran would not hesitate to make any effort to restore peace and stability in the region.

The attack was not confirmed by Israel, although representatives from Iran and Syria accused the Israeli government of the attack.

Israel’s Response

On Monday, 15, Israel’s War Cabinet decided to respond to the Iranian attack. The Israeli government is considering a retaliation to ‘hurt’ Iran without reaching the point of provoking a regional war.

According to local press, Benjamin Netanyahu’s government will try a military action coordinated with the United States. However, Washington has already stated it would not participate in any potential attack on Iran.”

Israel Army Officials Announce to Iran: We Will Respond with ACTIONS, Not Words – Retaliation Could Occur at Any Time

IDF Spokesperson RAdm. Daniel Hagari

Israel officials announced on Sunday, April 14, that it will respond to Iran’s unprecedented attack  “with actions, not words” in an unspecified retaliation to the drones and cruise missiles launched overnight by Tehran from Iranian soil.

The Revolutionary Guard, the elite force of the Islamic Republic, confirmed that the Iranian action was in response to the aggression attributed to the Jewish state against its diplomatic facilities in Damascus earlier this month.

To Iran International, an Iranian exiled broadcaster, a spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces said that the country will respond “with action, not words”. Earlier, Rear Admiral and Army spokesperson Daniel Hagari, quoted by The Guardian, stated that they are “ready to do whatever is necessary for the defense of Israel.”

Mr. Hagari said, “We have plans, the situation is fully underway.”

Haaretz reported that the War Cabinet met on Sunday at the Defense Headquarters in Tel Aviv to determine the response. According to Channel 12, the group received authorization from the Security Cabinet to make retaliatory decisions, eliminating the need for prior approval and expediting the process.

During the meeting, Benny Gantz, a member of the war cabinet quoted by The Guardian, stated in a release that the “price” to Iran will be exacted “in the manner and at the time that is right for us,” and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant took the opportunity to forge an alliance against the Iranian threat, according to Haaretz.
