BINGO! Harris Presides Over Wars, Inflation, Scandals, Open Borders, and Crime.

By: Tony Kinnett — September 27th 2024 at 16:56

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we watch in a mix of amusement and bemusement as Vice President Kamala Harris wins what can only be described as a veritable “BINGO” of bad presidential campaign circumstances just 38 days before the general election: War in the Middle East as the U.S. sits impotent, a struggling economy, scandals galore, rising crime, and a chaotic southern border are only a few of the messes the Biden-Harris administration preside over.

Stop right there, reader!

Head over to our YouTube page and subscribe! It’s the best way to follow “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” and it gets you access to full, exclusive interviews. Most importantly, it helps the show grow and drives liberal journalists to tears.

While millions look to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for its electoral votes and swing state status, Gabby Hoffman from the Independent Women’s Forum stops by the “Cast” to outline a stronger argument for the Keystone State’s importance. You might even say the argument is so powerful, it’s almost “nuclear.”

With another brutal hurricane and tropical storm under our belts, we take a closer look at why the United States consistently has a better response to natural disasters than other nations. There’s far more to storm and disaster readiness than infrastructure—and every one of these factors derive from the spirit of the American people.

Finally, we dig into a bit of “Mail Time” and the questions many of you have sent in this week to answer. In this tumultuous election season, we’ll try to get through as many serious (and silly) questions as possible.

WATCH: The Sun Belt Might Outshine the Rust Belt

By: Tony Kinnett — September 23rd 2024 at 17:06

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we watch the battle for the swing states of the Rust Belt—Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—take Kamala Harris’ campaign’s attention away from the swing states of the Sun Belt—specifically, Arizona and Nevada.

Will that refocusing levy a massive shift in the polls—or is this more media humbug and nonsense in an election where everything is already decided? And what does Nebraska, of all places, have to do with it?

The world stage gets more chaotic as Israel begins operations in southern Lebanon in some of the most targeted military strikes of all time. President Joe Biden appears to completely forget where he is and who he is, while first lady Jill Biden steps into her Edith Wilson shoes as the nation looks on in horror.

Finally, we parse a bit of breaking data on the various unions and their election endorsements and involvement. The traditional “1990s labor Democrats” demographic may have one good gasp of air left before being lost to the pages of history, and what a doozy of an election to swing!

Kamala Harris Had Minority ‘Journalists’ at ‘Hello’

By: Tim Graham — September 20th 2024 at 16:11

The easiest thing in the world to predict is that Vice President Kamala Harris is going to be coddled by minority journalists. If you speak the mantra “diversity, equity, inclusion”—and let’s add “history”—you’re rooting for a Harris victory.

So, when Harris finally consented to a sit-down with three liberals at a Philadelphia NPR station for the National Association of Black Journalists, the title of the event could have been “You Had Me at ‘Hello.’” Not every question was a softball: They pushed back from the Left on handgun control and denying aid to Israel. But nobody wanted her chances of victory to be damaged in any way.

Politico reporter Eugene Daniels—whose official beat has been championing the vice president for the last four years—opened the lovefest by asking the simple question about whether the American people are better off now than they were four years ago.

She responded by uncorking outrageous claims—that we had record-high unemployment when she and President Joe Biden assumed office (wrong), and that Jan. 6, 2021, was the most terrible attack on our democracy since the Civil War. It’s like 9/11 never happened.

There was no pushback. That was a shocking contrast with former President Donald Trump’s NABJ interview at its convention in July, where ABC reporter Rachel Scott began with a vicious stemwinder about how many black journalists thought Trump shouldn’t be allowed at their convention, how he disparaged black Democrats like Rep. Ilhan Omar and insulted black journalists for “stupid” questions, and that he had dinner with a white supremacist (Nick Fuentes). Kanye West brought Fuentes—who was not invited, but Trump said he didn’t know who he was at the time.

Scott also demanded that Trump should get his fellow Republicans to stop attacking her favorite candidate, Harris, as a “DEI hire.” They see this as a slur on Harris’ talents. They can’t admit that many Democrats demanded Biden install a black woman on the ticket—which sounds exactly like a DEI imperative.

Harris will never face hostile questions like this. There is no way she would ever be asked questions as rude as Trump received from Scott. She’s never going to accept an interview request from Fox News or Newsmax or, God forbid, conservative radio stars. The double standard is blatant and unforgettable. She’s not even interested in interviews from her most obvious allies, like the corrupt debate moderators at ABC.

Fox News host Harris Faulkner was one of the three questioners at the Trump NABJ event. Why couldn’t they balance it out and have Faulkner also ask questions of Harris? Let’s guess that Team Harris would have immediately vetoed that idea. Harris can’t handle a less predictable question, one with a more accusatory spin on it. She can bungle a softball, like she did with her first question in the NABJ friend zone.

Gerren Keith Gaynor of TheGrio asked the most ridiculous question, claiming Republicans have “weaponized” her laughter, implying she’s not a serious candidate, so “why is joy important to you, to insert into this election?” Gaynor later told Joy Reid “it was important for me to lift that up. And who doesn’t love joy, Joy?”

These journalists are like Drew Barrymore, who was terrified of harming Kamala’s career in an interview. ABC debate tilter Linsey Davis told the Los Angeles Times she had to turn off her social media accounts to shut out people who accused her of pulling for Harris.

“There is a stereotype that I am acutely aware of that I can’t be unbiased covering this moment,” she said. Then she went on the debate stage and proved it.

WATCH: Harris Scrapes the Bottom of the Barrel

By: Tony Kinnett — September 19th 2024 at 15:43

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we take a closer look at the fake high of the U.S. stock market after a slight rate reduction from the Federal Reserve. At last, we scrape the bottom of the barrel in this election cycle as both candidates pull out all of the stops for the voters beginning to receive absentee and mail-in ballots.

Bill Wirtz from the Consumer Choice Center joins us to talk about former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the populist energy he’s bringing not only to the Trump-Vance campaign but possibly a new presidential administration. What would his policies mean for U.S. agencies and the citizens’ lives their regulations restrict?

Rebecca Downs from Townhall.com stops by to give us the down low on the U.N.’s latest condemnation and tut-tutting from anti-Western nations and radical Islamic terror groups. What would we do with the U.N. building were the United States to pull out of the organization? What constitutes a human rights violation in international law?

Jerry Lopez, @IndySpanglish on X, joins us for another exciting segment of “Awful Tweets,” in which we take social media posts sent in by you and mock them live on the air. If you thought the September before the most consequential presidential election would bring reasonable social media interactions—this week will surely prove you wrong.

President Biden’s Incredible Vanishing Act Reveals Who’s Really in Charge of the Government

By: Tyler O'Neil — September 19th 2024 at 08:40

The president of the United States, often referred to as the “leader of the free world” and the “commander in chief,” seems not to be his own man. President Joe Biden, who ostensibly wields the awesome power of the Oval Office, yielded to a loud pressure campaign demanding that he step aside in the 11th hour of a presidential race that Donald Trump seemed destined to win.

Jubilant fellow Democrats hailed Biden’s decision to step aside, but his move raises a far more ominous question: Who, exactly, is in control of the U.S. government?

The answer may surprise you.

It seems the answer may be former President Barack Obama. After all, Obama notoriously joked to late-night TV host Stephen Colbert that he wouldn’t mind having a “stand-in, a front man or front woman” in the White House, whom Obama could direct from afar using an “earpiece.” After all, pressure from Obama appears to have convinced Biden to drop out of the race.

Yet if Obama is pulling the strings from afar, he seems to be doing so rather loosely. Biden’s White House has echoed Obama’s policies, employing bureaucrats who once staffed the Obama-Biden administration, but they seem to be following the current trends on the Left more than Obama’s own slick messaging.

The real answer isn’t any one man but a vast network of left-wing nonprofits that work with administrative agencies to draft policy.

Remember that fancy Constitution you learned about in school, with its nifty checks and balances to prevent the tyranny of the majority? Well, forget about all that. Today, the administrative state writes the rules we all must live by, in conjunction with woke pressure groups.

?Who's really in control of Washington? Joe Biden's decision to drop out of the presidential race revealed that he's essentially a figurehead, but a figurehead for what?? My new book? "The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government" reveals how the… pic.twitter.com/MrsmwifJoo

— Tyler O'Neil (@Tyler2ONeil) September 19, 2024

It works like this. Congress passes a law such as the Clean Air Act, saying: “We need clean air. You, Environmental Protection Agency, you give us clean air.” The EPA then makes regulations, and if they’re too harsh, Congress theoretically can defund the EPA, but it usually doesn’t.

When making those regulations, the EPA will consult with a climate alarmist pressure group such as the Natural Resources Defense Council. Gina McCarthy, who headed the EPA under Obama, became president of NRDC after Obama left office and before she became the Biden White House’s national climate adviser.

Bureaucrats such as McCarthy come in and out of government, often finding a home in the woke pressure groups that influence federal policy. Sometimes, these pressure groups actually write official memos for federal agencies.

In 2009, a federal investigation into the Bureau of Land Management found that the agency was consulting with staff at the National Wildlife Federation, a climate group. The federation’s staff were writing and editing official bureau materials to promote the organization’s own policies.

The federal government often relies on such pressure groups for policy ideas, and these pressure groups in turn rely on a vast, left-wing funding network that often employs what many on the Left demonize as “dark money.”

Many conservatives are familiar with George Soros, the Hungarian-American billionaire philanthropist whose Open Society Foundations directs money to all sorts of left-wing causes, most notably the “reform prosecutor” movement that imposes lenient sentences on criminals.

Yet Open Society is just one among many. Eric Kessler’s for-profit firm Arabella Advisors set up multiple nonprofits—most notably Sixteen Thirty Fund and New Venture Fund—that direct millions to left-wing pressure groups, cloaking which donors are giving to which causes.

Big labor unions such as the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, and SEIU direct hundreds of thousands of dollars through these Arabella network nonprofits, as do teachers unions such as the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. These unions take workers’ hard-earned money and funnel it into activist groups that influence federal policy.

The end result is a behemoth, a monster I refer to as the Woketopus. It’s the subject of my forthcoming book “The Woketopus: The Dark Money Cabal Manipulating the Federal Government.”

This Woketopus shoves its policy agenda into the administrative state on wide-ranging issues from immigration to labor policy, to LGBTQ+ activism, to “green” initiatives, and even to weaponizing federal law enforcement against its ideological and political opponents.

This Woketopus relies on Biden—and Vice President Kamala Harris—to enable its agenda, but it often works around these figureheads. In some cases, as on the issue of U.S. policy toward Israel after the Hamas terrorist attacks of Oct. 7, it actively seeks to undermine the current president, becoming a “deep state” even against its preferred candidate.

So, who’s really in control of the U.S. government? A far-left network of donors, activist groups, and bureaucrats who use the government as a revolving door, going back and forth between woke nonprofits and the administrative state. It may sound far-fetched, but my new book has the receipts.

This Woketopus will be fine if Harris replaces Biden, but all bets are off if something else happens.

That’s why the switcheroo took place, and why Biden is less in control than he appears.

Kamala Harris Gave Vague Answers During Interview With Black Journalists, ABC News Correspondent Says

By: Jason Cohen — September 18th 2024 at 17:37

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—ABC News’ senior White House correspondent Selina Wang on Tuesday said Vice President Kamala Harris often did not offer detailed responses during her National Association of Black Journalists interview.

Harris spoke with NABJ member journalists in Philadelphia about the Israel-Hamas war, the economy, and other issues during the roughly 45-minute interview. Wang noted Harris’ answers on both the Gaza war and Americans’ well-being compared to four years ago lacked “specific” details.

“She was pressed about how her policy towards Israel and Gaza might be different than that of President [Joe] Biden’s and she did not directly answer the question or offer any policy specifics, but she repeatedly said that we need to get a deal done,” Wang told host Kyra Phillips.

“Since Harris announced her candidacy, she’s been very careful, Kyra, to not have too much daylight between her views and that of President Biden. So everything she said on foreign policy very much tracks with President Biden’s views,” Wang added. “Now, there were multiple times, though, during this interview where Vice President Harris did not offer a specific answer. Instead, she pivoted and returned to her talking points that she wanted to hit, particular[ly] on a question about whether or not Americans are better off today than they were four years ago.”

Harris answered the question by asserting she and Biden inherited “a mess” from former President Donald Trump, noting the dismal economic circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. She then asserted she and Biden “have created over 16 million new jobs,” brought down the black unemployment rate, invested in small businesses, and reduced medical costs.

MSNBC host Katy Tur fact-checked that Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in April claimed that job losses under Trump were the worst out of all presidents without mentioning the pandemic. The poverty rate reached an all-time low and the unemployment rate reached a 50-year low during the former president’s term before the pandemic in 2020, according to a Trump White House press release.

Harris acknowledged prices are “still too high” and detailed her economic plans, including tax credits for housing developers and down payment assistance for homebuyers. Prices have surged over 20% since Biden and Harris took office in January 2021.

Undecided swing-state voters in a Monday focus group said the way Harris answers questions on the campaign trail is “insulting” to them. The vice president faced criticism for her Friday interview with 6ABC Philadelphia’s Action News, where she rambled about her middle-class upbringing when anchor Brian Taff asked her what “specific” strategies she intends to implement to improve affordability for Americans.

Harris also avoided directly answering a question regarding her many policy flip-flops during the Sept. 10 presidential debate, opting to discuss her “middle-class” upbringing while explaining how her “values have not changed” despite her policy changes.

Democratic strategist James Carville during a Thursday podcast seemed to suggest Harris field a blend of “planted” and unrehearsed queries during public speaking engagements to appear more impressive, without making it “evident” she already knew some of the questions.

WATCH: Pager? I Hardly Know Her!

By: Tony Kinnett — September 17th 2024 at 16:32

On the latest episode of “The Tony Kinnett Cast,” we discuss pagers in Lebanon and examine the complete failure of two separate interviews with Vice President Kamala Harris and what they mean for both the Biden-Harris administration and the Harris-Walz campaign.

Speaking of the campaign, where is the bump in polls after the debate, and what does former president Donald Trump’s second survived assassination attempt have to do with it?

We stop in with Lindsey Burke, director of the Center for Education Policy at The Heritage Foundation, to chat about an overdue tool for students and parents considering college choices in an age where academics aren’t the priority at many institutions. The latest data visualization tool from Heritage makes a serious attempt to bridge the gap between data and those trying to make sense of it.

Israeli intelligence shook the world today when a series of pager explosions in Lebanon showcased a serious breach of security, a worse breach of common sense, and a critical victory in Israel’s war against Iranian proxy terror networks like Hezbollah of Lebanon, the Houthis of Yemen, and Hamas of Gaza.

Finally, we break through a bit of culture and entertainment to round off an already crazy week of news and insanity!

Students at Prestigious DC University Call for Intifada

By: Virginia Allen — September 4th 2024 at 21:19

Students have returned to their college campuses for classes, clubs, and, if you’re a student at Georgetown University in D.C., maybe a protest or two

Several hundred pro-Palestine protesters marched through Georgetown University Wednesday evening shouting “there is only one solution, intifada revolution.”

“Intifada” is an Arabic word meaning “shaking off” or “uprising” and, as defined by Merriam-Webster, means “an armed uprising of Palestinians against Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

Asked if Israel has the right to exist, Georgetown University student Miriam Siegel, who is also Jewish and a part of the group Jewish Voice for Peace, told The Daily Signal, “I personally do not believe that any nation-state has the right to exist.”

Pro-Palestine marches took place on the D.C. college campus during the spring, and protest leaders told the crowd that their movement is back and “stronger than ever.”

Speaking through a megaphone, a student organizer expressed how happy she was to be back protesting and in a crowd with so many people “wearing a keffiyeh,” which is a scarf that is now seen as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinians.

But not all Georgetown students were pleased with the protest taking place on their campus.

“The martyrs are suicide bombers,” a student told The Daily Signal, “and she’s chanting ‘honor the martyrs,’” she said, gesturing toward a protest leader.

Asked if she believes Georgetown University students understand what happened on Oct. 7th, the student said, “yes, most students do and that’s why 99.9% of Georgetown students are not here right now.”

About 20,000 students attend Georgetown University where tuition runs over $60,000 a year with an acceptance rate of 12%, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Pro-Palestine protests broke out on college campuses across the country following Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel last October. Israel declared war on Hamas following the attack that left 1,200 Israelis dead. Palestinian health authorities say 40,000 people have been killed in the fighting since Oct. 8. This number cannot be verified.

Students established a pro-Palestine encampment at George Washington University, two miles from Georgetown University, during the spring semester.

“Were using a diversity of tactics,” Siegel told The Daily Signal when asked if a pro-Palestine encampment would be established at Georgetown University this fall. “I think Georgetown needs to know that where there is oppression, there will be escalation. It could happen anywhere,” the student said.

CNN’s Credibility on Line in What Bash Asks VP Harris in Interview

By: Jon Sutz — August 28th 2024 at 15:25

CNN’s Dana Bash will either toss softballs to Vice President Kamala Harris in her interview on Thursday—or she will ask tough questions.

Her decision will either galvanize, or diminish, the perception that CNN is leftist propaganda.

Here are three questions Bash should ask the would-be president:

1) “Why have you ignored the millions of migrant women and girls who have been raped on the way to the U.S. southern border—and done nothing to help the U.S. Border Patrol to ensure that their rapists are not allowed onto our soil?

“Early in the Biden administration, you were assigned the task of being the ‘border czar,’ purportedly to help stop the influx of foreign nationals from all over the world who attempt to unlawfully enter U.S. soil, after refusing to comply with our established immigration and refugee procedures, background checks, etc.”

Much has been reported about the estimated 9 million to 10 million illegal aliens who ignored our immigration laws, and walked/sneaked into America. That doesn’t include the estimated 20% more who are classified as “got-aways”—meaning, they evaded our Border Patrol officers, are now on U.S. soil, whose backgrounds and intents are totally unknown.

Against this background, in 2014, the far-left Huffington Post reported U.N. data showing that “80% of Central American Women, Girls Are Raped Crossing Into the U.S.” Here’s an excerpt:

As the number of Central American women and girls crossing into the U.S. continues to spike, so is the staggering amount of sexual violence waged against these migrants who are in search of a better life.

According to a stunning Fusion investigation, 80 percent of women and girls crossing into the U.S. by way of Mexico are raped during their journey. That’s up from a previous estimate of 60 percent, according to an Amnesty International report.

The rapists—often the smugglers whom the migrants must pay to help get them get across our border—don’t even bother hiding what they are doing to these females. To the contrary, like Hamas, they create “trophies” of what they did; in this case, in the form of “rape trees,” on which they display the underwear of the women and girls they sexually terrorized.

2) “What is your position on Customs and Border Protection’s recent refusal to release data on how many individuals on our terrorist watchlist have been caught at our border—attempting to enter America or were interdicted on U.S. soil—since you took office?”

Continuing on the border, immigration, and national security front, we’ve seen report after report of individuals who on the terrorist watchlist being arrested at our border, or who made it onto U.S. soil.

On May 16, Fox News reported, “Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has rejected a request by Fox News to reveal the nationalities of people on the FBI terror watchlist arrested at the border by Border Patrol, citing ‘privacy interests’ of those involved.”

3) “What is your position on President Joe Biden’s statement that he wants to begin importing Gaza Palestinians onto U.S. soil—even though he knows that most support Hamas and hate America?

“As you probably know, on May 1 and 2, the AP and Fox News reported that Biden is considering importing Palestinian ‘refugees’ onto U.S. soil.

“I assume he and you are aware of the data that shows there are no people on earth who hate America more than Palestinians, and that the overwhelming majority of them support Hamas, its quest to destroy Israel, and its killing, rape, torture, and kidnapping of Jews on Oct. 7.”

  • February 2014: A Pew Research Center survey showed that Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank dislike the U.S. more than any other group, with 76% of respondents, the most on the list, qualifying America as an “enemy.”
  • 84% of Palestinians in the West Bank, and 64% in the Gaza Strip, say they support Hamas’ Oct. 7  attack.
  • 62% of those in the West Bank say they have a “very positive” view of Hamas.
  • More than 70% of Palestinians in both regions reject any “two-state solution,” and instead want Israel destroyed and replaced by a Palestinian nation.

As summarized in this infographic (excerpted from here), before Hamas’ Oct. 7 slaughter of Jews, the terrorist group enjoyed overwhelming support from the vast majority of Palestinians in both territories—support that has continued even after that terrorist attack:
