The ‘Mary Poppins’ of Censorship Is Back — Again!

The winds have unfortunately changed and brought the former director of the defunct Disinformation Governance Board back — and with her a new censorship organization. Nina Jankowicz, the self-proclaimed “Mary Poppins of disinformation,” announced her newest censorship venture, The American Sunlight Project. During an interview with CNN’s America’s Choice, Jankowicz described her group as “bipartisan” and “big tent,” claiming to “represent people on both sides of the political spectrum.” But as is often the case with these allegedly neutral censorship efforts that attack free speech, bipartisanship seems to be the spoonful of sugar that helps the bias go down. Apparently, nobody told Jankwicz that if you want to be considered “bipartisan,” maybe don’t attack Republicans and “conservative media,” calling them “extremists” in a welcome blog on your website. “Since April 2022, extremists have been running a campaign to undermine critical disinformation research ahead of the 2024 election and beyond,” the group wrote, linking to an article from The New York Times titled “How Trump’s Allies Are Winning the War Over Disinformation.” The group continued, “Encompassing elected officials, conservative media, attorneys, paid-for ‘journalists,’ and online influencers, the campaign has falsely claimed the Federal Government is overseeing a vast censorship regime in coordination with social media platforms, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.” The American Sunlight Project seems to be dismissing the very real concerns that came from The Twitter files and The Facebook Files, which showed executive branch agencies and non-profit groups pressuring Big Tech companies and their employees a censor posts. The new group even sent a carefully worded letter to the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government condemning the committee’s investigations into Big Tech-government collusion and calling for more transparency. Jankowicz has even repeatedly painted so-called “disinformation” researchers, censors really, as victims of government oversight and public criticism, and her new group is following suit. In its welcome blog, The American Sunlight Project even went so far as to call these researchers “canaries in the coal mine” who are being “snuffed out” and “intimidated” by the Select Subcommittee’s investigations. The group placed an emphasis on being not only bipartisan but also transparent. And yet when asked about her donors in an interview with The New York Times, Jankowicz kept her donors in the shadows and out of the “Sunlight.” Jankowicz was previously the director of the now-defunct Disinformation Governance Board, also known as the Ministry of Truth. She was criticized heavily in 2022 for her support of Twitter’s fact-checking program “Bird Watch” and “demoting content.” She also repeatedly framed, without evidence, the New York Post’‘s Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian propaganda. Conservatives are under attack. Trump Faces 34 Felonies at Trial. But Was There a Crime?

I can’t tell you how many people I know who do not like former President Donald Trump yet nonetheless smell prosecutorial overreach in Manhattan.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has charged the former president with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Trump has pleaded not guilty.

The case began with Michael Cohen, Trump’s onetime fixer, making a “hush money” payment to the former adult film actress known as Stormy Daniels to keep her from revealing information about an alleged sexual relationship with Trump in 2006. Bragg used the fact that Cohen paid $130,000 to Daniels in 2016, when Trump was running for president, as a pretext to turn a moldy misdemeanor offense into a felony.

But is it even illegal? This trial showcases something rich men and big corporations have been doing for years—paying off mistresses or wronged staffers with cash settlements with little public scrutiny, thanks to nondisclosure agreements.

I don’t like it, but it’s not a crime.

On Tuesday, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker testified that during a 2015 meeting in Trump Tower, he told Trump, Cohen, and campaign stalwart Hope Hicks that he wanted to help the Trump campaign, if behind the scenes.

What followed was “catch and kill,” the term for the scheme of paying to get dirt on a public figure, then killing the story, as happened with another alleged Trump gal pal, Karen McDougal. The National Enquirer paid her $150,000 for a story that never ran.

Trump has denied that anything extramarital occurred with McDougal and Daniels. But as Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, told CNN, “You don’t pay someone $130,000 not to have sex with you.”

Back to Cohen. He’s a flawed witness to be sure, who in 2018 pleaded guilty to charges that included tax evasion and lying to Congress when he testified about Trump, his former master. Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison.

Then, last year, Cohen claimed that he lied when he admitted to tax evasion. A more careful prosecutor would not hang a case on an accomplished liar.

Given his capacity for self-pity and self-sabotage, it’s no surprise that Trump told reporters after the second day of trial, “I’m not allowed to defend myself.”

Trump also continued to throw shade at Judge Juan Merchan, whose gag order, Trump maintained, robbed him of his “right to free speech.” Trump also offered that Merchan “should recuse himself.”

Pecker testified that he was glad to help by running “positive stories about Mr. Trump,” as well as negative stories about his campaign rivals. I’m guessing many Big Media hotshots feel the same way—about President Joe Biden.

It’s no secret Harvey Weinstein is a despicable human being. But that doesn’t mean prosecutors get free reign. New York’s highest court ruled the judge tainted the jury by allowing witness to testify about subjects that had nothing to do with the case against him. This is exactly what is happening in the New York court room where President Trump is being tried on a sham records keeping case.

 

For 3 days the CEO of the National Enquirer has been testifying about things that have nothing to do with the underlying allegations against Trump. His testimony is only to serve as a way to make the jury think President Trump is unscrupulous. It amounts to a prosecutorial trick. If New York’s highest court rules that these types of witnesses, that serve only to taint the minds of the jury, are wrong in a convicted sex offender case, it should be wrong in a case against a former President.

While this is happening, The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments in the Presidential immunity case that will have far reaching ramifications on ever case brought against President Trump by these deceitful leftists prosecutors across the country. We have the must hear audio that gives us an indication into how the Supreme Court may rule.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, President Trump arrived at a construction site in New York on Thursday morning to greet union workers, and he was met with thunderous chants of “USA!” “USA!”

Trump told Fox News earlier, "I think these maybe were Democrats, but for me, they're Republican."

The union workers love Trump, and according to new polling data, Biden's lead in New York, a state where Democrats have won by double digits in every presidential election since 1988, continues to shrink.

As Right Side Broadcasting Network reports,

In the latest show of proof that left-wing prosecutors’ efforts to interfere in the 2024 presidential election are backfiring, a newly released survey reveals that President Donald J. Trump may be within striking distance of Joe Biden in one of America’s strongest Democrat states (and the backdrop for Alvin Bragg’s ongoing “hush money” sham trial): New York.

New polling from the Siena College Research Institute, conducted over a three-day period from April 15-17, shows President Trump within ten points of Joe Biden in the state, 37 percent to 47 percent. In February, the same poll, which was taken prior to the start of the New York City trial (which will wrap up week two on Friday), showed Biden leading by 12 (48 percent-36 percent).

Among Independent voters, Trump leads Biden by 14 points, 46 percent-32 percent.

If this margin were to hold (or tighten further) going into November, it could indicate a seismic shift in the voting habits of traditionally deep-blue New York: Joe Biden carried the state’s 29 electoral votes by a margin of 23 points four years ago, and the last time a Republican declared victory there was in 1984 when President Ronald Reagan defeated ex-Vice President Walter Mondale by a more modest 8 points.

New York union leader Bobby Bartels also shared results from a poll he put out in his union, telling Fox, "President Trump is leading Joe Biden three to one on my presidential poll out of my 9,000 members right now."  

Bartles added, "We are very tired of the situation with groceries, inflation, gas prices, illegal immigration, crime. We're living it every day in New York City."

Bartels: It was great to see the president coming and engaging with the blue collar worker of New York City. We basically built New York. The union movement has made the middle class, and we are a very patriotic union, and we are pro America. So, my members, right now, I put out a poll in my union. President Trump is leading Joe Biden three to one on my presidential poll out of my 9,000 members right now. We are very tired of the situation with groceries, inflation, gas prices, illegal immigration, crime. We're living it every day in New York City.

Justice Alito Destroys Jack Smith’s Prosecutor During Trump Immunity Oral Arguments with One Question (AUDIO)

The Supreme Court on Thursday heard oral arguments on Trump’s presidential immunity claim in Jack Smith’s January 6 case in DC.

The case made its way to the Supreme Court after the DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Trump was not immune from prosecution.

Trump’s lawyers previously argued that Trump is immune from federal prosecution for alleged ‘crimes’ committed while he served as US President.

John Sauer, a Missouri-based attorney for Trump, gave an opening statement on Thursday and argued that Jack Smith’s indictment uses vague statutes to criminalize “core authority” of the presidency.

Sauer argued that immunity protects past presidents such as George W. Bush and Barack Obama from being prosecuted for crimes they committed while in federal office.

As expected, the liberal justices, similar to the appellate court judges, floated absurd hypotheticals.

The justices then had the opportunity to grill Jack Smith’s prosecutor Michael Dreeben. Recall that Dreeben was one of Mueller’s goons in the special counsel’s ‘Trump-Russia’ inquisition.

Conservative Justice Samuel Alito destroyed DOJ prosecutor Michael Dreeben with one question.

“If the president gets advice from the attorney general, that something is lawful, is that an absolute defense?” Alito asked Dreeben.

“Yes, I think that it is,” Dreeben said.

“But won’t that give presidents incentive to be sure to pick an Attorney General who will reliably tell the president that it is lawful to do whatever the president wants to do if there’s any possible argument in favor of it?” Alito asked Dreeben.

“I think the Constitutional structure protects against that risk. The president nominates the attorney general and the Senate provides advice and consent,” Dreeben said.

This line of questioning also dovetails other questions asked by Gorsuch related to subordinate liability.

Justice Alito also asked about FDR’s decision to put Japanese-Americans in camps during WWII.

“What about President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s decision to intern Japanese-Americans during World War II, couldn’t that have been charged?” Alito asked Dreeben.

“Today, yes,” Michael Dreeben said.

CNN Gloats Over Biden Killing U.S. Energy: ‘Signals the End of Coal in the United States’

The left’s cheerleaders at CNN had only good things to say about President Joe Biden’s latest anti-energy power grab.  During the April 25 edition of CNN News Central, CNN Chief Climate Correspondent Bill Weir celebrated the impending demise of a major American energy source, enthusing, “This is really, really significant and essentially signals the end of coal as a power source in the United States.” Weir's upbeat reporting referred to the new EPA rules on coal and natural gas, which the Biden-led EPA announced on Thursday. Weir and CNN Anchor John Berman spent a segment discussing how the EPA’s rules would impact climate emissions. Yet, the CNN duo spent not a single second on how this might impact American jobs, energy independence, grid reliability or states and communities depend on coal revenue.  Although the EPA claimed the new rules were designed to avoid “disrupting the delivery of reliable electricity,” Weir admitted to CNN viewers that the coal industry did not have the technology to comply with these regulations. “Four new rule changes,” Weir said of the EPA announcement, “they also include cutting down on the neurotoxin Mercury … but the big one is this new rule that would require coal-fired plants to reduce 90% of their planet-cooking pollution and right now there's not really a technology capable of doing that.” He continued, “The industry has never really taken carbon capture and sequestration seriously in the United States, and so it will essentially push most of the remaining 200 or so coal-fired plants out of business—about a quarter of them are scheduled to retire anyway.”  The regulation also cracks down on new natural gas plants. This means that the Biden EPA is not only obliterating coal-fired power plants that many Americans depend on but also ensuring that the country can’t replace them with another cheap energy source.  Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) agreed that the rule was designed to kill the coal industry, but responded with the compassion entirely missing at CNN. “Electricity demand is soaring, but Biden's EPA is killing reliable electricity production,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “EPA's new rule would kill coal powerplants - which produce 20% of US electricity - forcing dependence on unreliable wind & solar. This will destroy the American way of life & empower China.” CNN didn’t explore this angle nor did they provide suggestions on how to cheaply replace one-fifth of America's energy. Instead, Weir told Berman that “Republican governors and utility lobbies” might object to these regulations to the Supreme Court. Tellingly, Berman and Weir did not explore why these utility companies might object.  According to West Virginia State Treasurer Riley Moore, his state gets “nearly a billion dollars in what’s called severance taxes from those fossil fuels,” which makes up a significant part of the state budget. This means that Biden’s EPA regulations would ultimately make it significantly harder for West Virginia to deliver on its obligations. Police Officers Show No Mercy as They Break Up Illegal Protest Held by Unruly Anti-Israel and Anti-Cop Protesters at Emory University in Atlanta (VIDEOS)

Atlanta police officers showed no mercy Thursday as they laid down the law against unruly anti-Israel and anti-cop protesters at Emory University.

As Fox 5 Atlanta reported, several dozen agitators illegally set up a “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on the lawn of the school and held signs.

FOX 5 Atlanta’s Billy Heath III noted that the protesters were approached by police, who gave them a minute to disperse, or they would be arrested for trespassing.

The students refused to comply with the cops’ demands and ended up paying a heavy price as a result.

Video footage from the protest shows police officers getting physical with the spoiled brats after allegedly being attacked. the police reportedly had to resort to firing rubber bullets and spraying tear gas to restore order.

You can hear what sounds like rubber bullets in the clip below while some protesters scream, “Let them go!” Many protesters are also seen being zip-tied and marched away.

Atlanta News First’s Patrick Quinn reported witnessing at least 15 agitators being detained.

According to Mondowweiss.net, The protesters were demanding Emory school officials immediately divest from Israel and Cop City, a police and fire department training campus under construction near Atlanta. The latter has been a prime target for Antifa militants for months.

The article claims without evidence the protesters are students from “multiple Atlanta universities” and community members. Emory University was chosen because the Marxists protesting view it as “complicit in genocide and police militarization.”

Laura Diamond, assistant vice president of University Communications at Emory University, released a statement saying the agitators were “not members of our community” and had no right to disrupt school functions:

Several dozen protesters trespassed into Emory University’s campus early Thursday morning and set up tents on the Quad. These individuals are not members of our community.

They are activists attempting to disrupt our university as our students finish classes and prepare for finals. Emory does not tolerate vandalism or other criminal activity on campus. The Emory Police Department ordered the group to leave and contacted Atlanta Police for assistance.

But CNN reports at least two professors were among those arrested. One of these “educators” was Noelle McAfee, Chair of the Philosophy Department at Emory University.

Hopefully more information will come out in the coming days regarding the participants. Having professors involved and possibly brainwashing students in the process is definitely troubling.

Maryland Principal Framed by Former Athletic Director with AI-Generated ‘Recording’ of Him Saying Racist Things

A former athletic director at Maryland’s Pikesville High School has been arrested for “framing” the principal by creating a deepfake of him saying racist things using artificial intelligence.

Dazhon Darien, 31, was charged with disrupting school activities in January by impersonating Principal Eric Eiswert’s voice and spreading the audio on social media.

“The audio clip … had profound repercussions,” police wrote in charging documents obtained by the Baltimore Banner. “It not only led to Eiswert’s temporary removal from the school but also triggered a wave of hate-filled messages on social media and numerous calls to the school. The recording also caused significant disruptions for the PHS staff and students.”

Darien has also been charged with “theft and retaliating against a witness, related to alleged illicit payments he made to a school athletics coach, as well as stalking,” according to the report.

In the ai generated recording, a voice that sounds like Eiswert can be heard making disparaging comments about black and Jewish people. For example, the recording blasts “ungrateful Black kids who can’t test their way out of a paper bag” and says, “if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I’m going to join the other side.”

The Banner reports:

Questions about the audio’s authenticity quickly followed. Police wrote in charging documents that Darien had accessed the school’s network on multiple occasions in December and January searching for OpenAI tools, and used “Large Language Models” that practice “deep learning, which involves pulling in vast amounts of data from various sources on the internet, can recognize text inputted by the user, and produce conversational results.” They also connected Darien to an email account that had distributed the recording.

Many current and former students believed Eiswert was responsible for the offensive remarks, while former colleagues denounced the audio and defended Eiswert’s character. Eiswert himself has denied making those comments and said the comments do not align with his views.

The audio, posted to the popular Instagram account murder_ink_bmore, prompted a Baltimore County Public Schools and Baltimore County Police investigation. Eiswert has not been working in the school since the investigation began.

The night before the audio went viral, it was sent to three teachers at the school, including Shaena Ravenell who sent it to a student she knew would spread it far and wide.

Ravenell also contacted the media and NAACP. She has since resigned.

Author Herman Wouk captured well how to understand heroism. “Heroes are not supermen; they are good men who embody — by the cast of destiny — the virtue of their whole people in a great hour,” observed Wouk. We have today an American hero in the name of House Speaker Mike Johnson. Anyone with eyes open knows the world today is a very dangerous place. Johnson, a conservative Republican and a devout Christian, knows that the way for it to become even more dangerous is for the leader of the free world to withdraw from its responsibilities as such. In the face of threats from some within his own party, in the face of the possibility of a purge like that which happened to his predecessor Kevin McCarthy, Johnson stepped up, rounded up 101 Republican votes in the House and, together with Democrats, passed a $95 billion military aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. As a Christian, Johnson understands that there is no understanding of what freedom is without appreciation that there is good and evil in this world. Our tendency in our country is to emphasize individual rights when we think about freedom. But the equal and opposite side of rights is responsibilities. Without responsibility, whether as individuals or as a nation, freedom is gone. As President Ronald Reagan famously observed, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” Speaking to reporters after the vote, Johnson noted that this is a “critical time” and that “Xi (China) and Vladimir Putin and Iran really are an axis of evil.” This is not a matter of our nation aspiring to be the world’s policeman. It is matter of knowing that the force of evil cannot be ignored and the price of believing that it can be ignored only grows and becomes increasingly more dangerous. Is this a matter of focusing abroad at the expense of what is happening at home? Certainly not. If a hero, in the words of Herman Wouk, embodies the “virtue” of his or her people, how do we define the virtue of the American people? It’s about the principles of a free nation under God. We also face great danger at home as we have departed from these principles. The $95 billion that will go in aid abroad is peanuts compared to what we waste at home in spending programs that do nothing. The Biden administration has appropriated $80 billion to the IRS to bolster tax collection. But at the same time, Biden has submitted a 2025 budget to Congress increasing federal spending by some $800 billion. We are now trillions of dollars in the red as result of bankrupt entitlement programs that are basically socialism. These programs are gushing red ink because they are not about, and never have been about, American principles of freedom and personal responsibility. We, of course, need to assure that those that immigrate to our country come to embrace the principles that make our country great. But Republicans need to contend with a president and his party who have long abandoned those principles. Enough Democrats do seem to understand the importance of defending our principles abroad, and here Republicans and Democrats must work together. So it’s not a matter of either/or. Freedom is about knowing that we have choices, that there is good and evil, and we must fight evil everywhere by choosing the good. Johnson has done us all a favor through his principles and courage. We have great challenges at home, but we cannot ignore what’s happening around us. CNN Wonders Why Johnson Cares About Anti-Semitism at Columbia

When Speaker Mike Johnson traveled to Columbia University on Wednesday to call for President Minouche Shafik's resignation, he was joined by CNN’s Erin Burnett who sat down with Johnson for an interview on OutFront. Burnett would claim that it was a good thing Johnson was booed or the situation might have spun out of control and also asked him why he cares so much about anti-Semitism at Columbia considering it is a private university. Previewing her interview, Burnett recalled, “They were, and I'm going to show you here, this is my cell phone video, chanting ‘Free Palestine,’ heckling, booing when Johnson called for the president of the school to resign. They were not friendly. They couldn't actually hear the Speaker, which I can tell you is a good thing, because much of what he said would have incensed that crowd.     During the recorded interview, Burnett wondered if Johnson was overreacting, “The NYPD, at least as of Monday, said they've not received a single call from Columbia University of reports of any physical harm.” Johnson pushed back: But you have to speak to these Jewish students who are in fear of their lives, who are cowering in their apartments right now, who are not coming to class. In fact, the administration recognized the threat was so great, they canceled classes. Now they've come out with this hybrid idea, ‘Well, if you're Jewish, maybe you do want to stay at home. Maybe you'd be better off for you.’ It is so discriminatory. It's so wrong in every way. The responsibility of a university administrator is to keep peace on campus and ensure the safety of students -- job number one. If they're incapable of doing that, they need different leadership. I think this is time for a really strong hand. Not convinced, Burnett tried again, “I'm trying to understand, though, why as Speaker of the House, this is an issue you would want to get involved with? It's a private university. It's an issue happening here. Why is this something that you are choosing to get involved in calling for the removal of the president of a private university?” Johnson, again, held firm, “Well, they receive federal funding as well. And Congress is looking at all of these aspects to determine how they're using those funds. Is that appropriate? If they can't fulfill their basic obligations, I don't think the American taxpayers want to be funding this kind of thing.” He also noted that it isn’t just students, “We know that professors are engaging in this as well, some of their professors. Some have been supportive of the Jewish your students, but I believe it's a small subset from what I'm told. They've allowed this to go on and it is not okay with the American people. This isn't a partisan issue. This is about right and wrong, and we've got to call it for what it is.” Burnett then asked, “And so, when -- when people talk about genocide and say that Israel is engaging in genocide, do you think that that is a legitimate conversation that they should be allowed to have as part of First Amendment rights here, or no?” Johnson reminded Burnett that he used to be a First Amendment lawyer when he answered, “when you shout down and physically threatened with intimidation and threats of violence the other side, that is not a peaceful expression, as peaceful -- peaceful exchange of ideas. That's something very different and that's what we're saying that they need to get control of.” Elsewhere in the interview, Burnett would ask, “The main thing they were chanting was ‘Free Palestine.’ How is that anti-Semitic?” and “Do you think that protesting the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, protesting the tens of thousands of innocent people who have died there is anti-Semitic in and of itself?” Both times Johnson would throw the blame back where it belongs: Hamas, but it should also be added that by “Free Palestine” many, if not most, of these people do not mean ending Israeli administration of certain parts of the West Bank. Rather, they mean Israel’s destruction and, yes, that is anti-Semitic. Anyone who spends time reading about NPR on NewsBusters is going to roll their eyes when NPR executives blather about how they believe in "viewpoint diversity" and "inclusion" of important voices. It's readily apparent on a daily basis that NPR is a sandbox for left-wingers, polishing Democrats and punishing Republicans, touting liberal journalists as heroic and conservative journalists as a pox on the First Amendment. Coming up with a list of ten egregious examples to advocate for separating NPR from the taxpayers is difficult, because there are many more examples than just ten. We decided to limit it to the Trump era, since that's roughly how long Uri Berliner was complaining inside NPR. Anti-Patriotic Song. On July 4, 2018, NPR's All Things Considered ripped a classic Irving Berlin song under the headline “For 'God Bless America,' A Long Gestation And Venomous Backlash.” NPR reported that leftist folksinger Woody Guthrie thought it was "a whitewash of everything wrong in America" and that it’s “annoyed many” people (NPR staffers and audience members, surely) "who hear it as a tune of syrupy nationalism and trivialized faith." Pro-Marxism. On February 24, 2023, NPR On The Media host Brooke Gladstone touted The Communist Manifesto: "like Hamlet’s ghost, the Manifesto is both impossible and imperative in its call for action.” It’s a “stalwart text…it’s stirring! It scans!” For the oppressed, it’s “music for their dreams.” Her Marx-interpreting guest China Mieville said true communism has never been tried, and “If you see this new sadistic hard right as an inevitable feature of capitalism, then the stakes of moving beyond capitalism become ever more urgent.” Pro-Chinese Communism. On October 1, 2018, NPR’s Morning Edition celebrated the 70th anniversary of the communist takeover of China. Co-host Ailsa Chang was in Beijing to gush. “It's communist in name, but it is not the party of the proletariat; it's the party of state capitalism. And it's a party that promised to lift people out of poverty, which, you know, to be -- truth be told, it has done a spectacular job of.” Chang interviewed a young woman who said China was doing great, that “we know the leader would make steady, wise choice, unlike (laughter) the United States.” Pro-Looting. On August 27, 2020, NPR's blog "Code Switch," with the slogan "Race In Your Face," posted an interview promoting a new book titled In Defense of Looting. Natalie Escobar promoted author Emily Osterweil's view that “looting is a powerful tool to bring about real, lasting change in society. The rioters who smash windows and take items from stores, she says, are engaging in a powerful tactic that questions the justice of ‘law and order,’ and the distribution of property and wealth in an unequal society.” Pro-Rioting. On The NPR Politics Podcast on July 17, 2021, NPR reporter Danielle Kurtzleben brought on Yale law professor Elizabeth Hinton to promote her book on the acceptability of violence as a protest tactic against police. Kurtzleben explained: “You talk about these clashes as rebellions -- and quite pointedly, not as riots. It's a very meaningful choice. It really kind of shapes how the reader perceives these clashes.” Kurtlzeben proclaimed “It’s an excellent book!” Pro-Sabotage. On NPR’s Fresh Air on April 15, 2023, their movie critic John Powers praised the movie How to Blow Up a Pipeline, hailing it as “hugely timely” when “people are frustrated by society's inability, indeed unwillingness to even slow down ecological disasters like climate change.” The movie’s a fictional take on the Andreas Malm book of the same name – “the most compelling argument I’ve read for eco-sabotage,” proclaimed Powers. He praised the movie for treating the saboteurs not as villains or “parody radicals,” but as “ordinary people whose reasons we can sympathize with.” Pro-Abortion Audio. On November 3, 2022, NPR’s Morning Edition featured reporter Kate Wells at an abortion clinic in Detroit, and they actually aired audio of an abortion of an 11-week-old baby. The abortionist told the woman,“you’re going to hear this machine turn on now, okay? It makes a loud noise.” NPR’s website warned some “may find it disturbing.” The doctor advises the patient to breathe during the killing. When the baby is dead, an assistant tells the woman, “Don’t you ever tell yourself that you can’t do something.” Anti-“Fox Monster.” On 2021, NPR’s On The Media devoted an hour to what they called “Slaying the Fox Monster.” Host Bob Garfield said “we're discussing how the marketplace might force Fox News Channel into responsible behavior or even into financial catastrophe." (In 2022, NPR also promoted Fox-deplatforming activist Nandimi Jammi, who quipped “you can’t chop off Fox News’s head in a day.”) Treasonous Mitch? On NPR’s Fresh Air on October 1, 2018, host Terry Gross discussed emerging claims on Trump-Russia collusion, and she imagined Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell might be treasonous: “If it can be proven that McConnell knew that Russia was trying to interfere in our election and influence the outcome of it and then tried to cover it up, to deny that it was happening, is that treason? Is that, like, legally treason?” Washington Post reporter Greg Miller wouldn’t bite. Hunter Laptop Deniers. The most egregious example is NPR's red-hot loathing of Biden scandals. On October 20, 2020, NPR “Public Editor” Kelly McBride tweeted,  "Why haven't you seen any stories from NPR about the NY Post's Hunter Biden story?" She quoted Terence Samuel, NPR's Managing Editor for News. “We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.” He dismissed the Post story as a “politically driven event.” Today, McBride’s tweet remains, but the link to her newsletter doesn’t work. Trump was right- again. Only 3 years ago our country was MAGA. America was great again. The economy, prosperity, inflation, interest rates, jobs, incomes, the border, crime, peace around the world.

Three short years later we’ve gone from MAGA to Gaza.

Trump was right about a lot of things. Here are just a few.

Trump predicted if the border was open and millions came into our country illegally, we’d be turned into a third world craphole. It happened exactly as he predicted. Look around.

Illegal aliens are murdering Americans from coast to coast. Illegals are fighting with pipes and belts in the middle of a major street in Midtown Manhattan. Cops are being beaten by illegal aliens in broad daylight in the middle of Times Square. Illegal alien squatters are stealing homes. Fentanyl is killing hundreds of thousands of our children.

One of my best friend’s children just died of a fentanyl overdose only days ago. Where do you think fentanyl comes from? The open border.

And then there’s the protests at Columbia University with angry mobs chanting “Death to Jews” “Death to America” and “We are Hamas.” Nothing like this has ever happened in the history of America.

U.S. Senators are now demanding President Biden send National Guard to protect Jewish students at Columbia U. This is happening in America?

Don’t look now but my alma mater Columbia U. has become “Hamas with a really bad football team.”

Now these Jew-hating protests are spreading to elite colleges across the country. And to the home of Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer who just happens to be Jewish. Who saw this coming?

President Trump saw it coming.

Remember President Trump’s so-called “Muslim Travel Ban.” He told us: Don’t let bad people, with evil intent, from terrorist nations, into America.

Trump’s point was, they will bring their hate with them. They will not blend in, as prior immigrants did. They will destroy our cities- which will be turned into dangerous “no go” zones. They will stir hate and division. Crime will explode. They will kill Americans- specifically Jews.

Don’t look now, but this is exactly what is happening.

The real name of Trump’s Executive Action was “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States.” It was simply an Executive Action aimed at keeping bad people with evil intent (and hatred for Jews, Christians, America and Western Civilization) out of the USA.

Trump understood. Not everyone is alike. Not everyone should be allowed into our country. It’s a privilege to become an American. We have to investigate people who want to come in- to make sure their values are compatible with America, American exceptionalism, freedom, and democracy.

Now you’re seeing the results of unvetted open borders on the streets and college campuses of America. It didn’t start with Biden. It started with Obama. Obama opened the floodgates for eight long years. He let millions of illegals in.

Now Biden (and his boss Obama) have excellerated the foreign invasion on STEROIDS.

Now for the first time in the history of America, there are protestors openly screaming about murdering Jews. Coincidence?

‘Aren’t Going Anywhere’: NBC Praises Resolve of Anti-Semitic, Pro-Hamas Columbia Students

NBC’s Today kicked off their show Thursday by hyping up and lionizing the anti-Semitic, pro-Hamas extremists calling for the murder of Jews at Columbia University. Completely ignoring the video evidence of the crowd chanting their “love” of Hamas and the signs saying Jewish counter-protesters should be murdered, NBC correspondent Stephanie Gosk boasted of their resolve to stay encamped on campus “until their demands are met.” “Columbia University extended the deadline from the tent encampment here by 48 hours, but that deadline runs out tonight at midnight and the students I’ve spoken with here say they aren't going anywhere,” she touted at the top of her report. Gosk did fret that “tension around the country is growing, it's spreading, it's leading to dramatic confrontations with police and dozens of arrests.” She seemed disheartened that people were growing tired of the pro-Hamas rallies with some schools cracking down: The temperature this morning on some college campuses reaching a boiling point. A growing number of protests forming over the ongoing war in the Middle East at campuses across the country, some leading to standoffs including the University of Texas at Austin. Students and police clashing during protests Wednesday. More than 30 were taken into custody. Protesters gathered outside the jail, with some faculty saying in a statement they would not work today. And overnight, police and protesters clashing at the University of Southern California. Officers hit with objects arrested more than 90 people, though it's unclear how many were students.     Ignoring videos of the Columbia students chanting things like “Hamas we love you! We support your rockets too,” Gosk tried to water down their anti-Semitism with propaganda from the terrorist-linked Center for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) about the rise in Islamophobia. “The tensions rising nationwide as reports of anti-Semitism and islamophobia have skyrocketed since last October, with the Anti-Defamation League and Center for American Islamic Relations each reporting record high complaints,” she reported. Fact Check: No, The Gateway Pundit is Not Losing Its Audience — We Continue to be One of the MOST VISITED News Sites in America Today

Yesterday, the news of the Gateway Pundit’s bankruptcy filing was released to the public.

As outlined in yesterday’s statement, this decision was made for business reasons. However, for our dedicated readers and trusted staff, there are no planned changes. We remain committed to delivering the same high-quality daily news and journalism to America today.

The mainstream media began reporting this news feverishly, with glee and half-truths. They all had their erroneous spin on the filing. They misunderstood what was going on and simply speculated as to our motives, the facts, and why it was happening.

One of the lies they started repeating in their coverage was that the traffic for the Gateway Pundit has gone down or plummeted.

In many reports they tried to claim that our traffic has gone down 62% since 2020, an outright lie. The Gateway Pundit is completely transparent about our site traffic. We link to it on every page, it’s a blue button at the bottom right of every page labelled “TGP Stats”, and it’s through a service called StatCounter.com.

The art and science of measuring website traffic is not precise, but across every reliable system it shows the same thing: our Gateway Pundit traffic is substantially higher than in 2020. Here’s what the month-to-month 2020-2024 data shows, and as you can see it does NOT show a decline in either site traffic or in unique visits to the site:

The mainstream media has based this lie on the way that online websites’ traffic is measured. One such service is called Comscore. Comscore is similar to StatCounter, and it requires website administrators to place a code or script on each page so that traffic can be counted. In early 2023, TGP removed that code because we no longer needed their reports. So today Comscore shows that our traffic is substantially down, even though that is not true – we had simply removed their tracking code.

Comscore’s statistics are then used by a hard-left blog to track and harass right-wing publications and journalists; one is known as “The Righting.” They published a story that was based entirely off of the Comscore data, showing the wrong statistics and facts. This source was then used by left-leaning media outlets to report these things as verified third-party facts.

All they did was copy and paste the wrong data, from the wrong service, to support a wrong conclusion: that TGP’s traffic was down when, in fact, it is actually substantially up.

TGP also uses Google Analytics to track our site traffic, and Google reports the same trends as StatCounter, even though they don’t provide a public link to the data: TGP traffic is nearly double that of 2020. Google Analytics proves that page-views to the GP site have gone from between 24-32 million views to between 55-87 million page-views.

And here’s our January 2024 Google Analytics report. Google changed the way they display their reports, so it’s a little harder to compare the two, but if you look at the total pageviews, and the total unique users, you can find the key data.

Can you guess whether the left-wing mainstream media is reporting the truth that traffic is substantially up, or whether they spread the disinformation that it is substantially down?

We’re sure you know that they chose the lie, instead of the truth, because in their minds the emotional agenda is more important than the facts.

We reached out to several reporters involved in promoting this disinformation and asked them to correct their data and amend their stories.

To their credit, Mediaite’s Alexander Griffing fixed his story to at least show that the traffic numbers were in dispute. He did this quickly and was a complete professional about the matter.

And then there was the Atlantic’s Paul Fahri. He wrote in the “Atlantic” that the Gateway Pundit traffic was down by over half. This, as I’ve explained, is simply not true.

We reached out to Paul and asked him to correct his story. We showed him the evidence, we explained the situation, we said surely at least he would want to explain that the numbers were reasonably in dispute.

Surely a journalist with years working at the Washington Post would want his readers to have the right information, have the right facts, and draw the right conclusions from those facts.

Fahri told us he didn’t care if it was true or not, he wasn’t going to update the article. He told us to go take it up with the source he received the information from, and maybe just take it up with Comscore themselves.

NPR, of course, repeated the same lying line about our traffic being down. It’s not even worth trying to engage with those hard-left zealots committed to disinformation.

Instead of correcting their errors, mainstream journalists revel in their errors. Instead of doing their jobs to get the story right all the time, they simply push the agenda and ignore the facts. This is why America no longer reads these partisan disinformation outlets. This is why America fell out of love with mainstream journalism.

This is the truth of why the Gateway Pundit is getting more site traffic than ever before. Even though we are constantly harassed with lawfare, even though the government is trying to push us off all social media platforms in a case now being decided before the Supreme Court, even though our ad platforms are attacked and even our advertisers are harassed by insane left-wing anti-free-speech zealots, despite everything they throw at the Gateway Pundit, we’re doing better than ever.

Cacao trees in West Africa, where 50% of the world’s chocolate originates, are currently under threat by a virus that may jeopardize the global supply of chocolate.

In a new scientific study, researchers from the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana and the University of Kansas, Prairie View A&M, reported that the cacao swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD), caused by tiny insects called mealybugs, has endangered cacao trees in the Ivory Coast and Ghana.

Harvests in the Ivory Coast and Ghana have been cut by 15% to 50% since the virus has wreaked havoc on cocoa trees.

To combat the pesky virus, researcher Chen-Charpentier from the University of Kansas, Prairie View A&M, has advocated for vaccinating cocoa trees and spreading them out from one another.

Chen-Carpentier stated, “What we needed to do was create a model for cacao growers so they could know how far away they could safely plant vaccinated trees from unvaccinated trees in order to prevent the spread of the virus while keeping costs manageable for these small farmers.”

A rapidly spreading virus threatens the health of the cacao tree and the dried seeds from which chocolate is made, jeopardizing the global supply of the world’s most popular treat.

About 50% of the world’s chocolate originates from cacao trees in the West Africa countries of Ivory Coast and Ghana. The damaging virus is attacking cacao trees in Ghana, resulting in harvest losses of between 15 and 50%. Spread by small insects called mealybugs that eat the leaves, buds and flowers of trees, the cacao swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD) is among the most damaging threats to the root ingredient of chocolate.

Chen-Charpentier and colleagues from the University of Kansas, Prairie View A&M, the University of South Florida and the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana have developed a new strategy: using mathematical data to determine how far apart farmers can plant vaccinated trees to prevent mealybugs from jumping from one tree to another and spreading the virus.

“Mealybugs have several ways of movement, including moving from canopy to canopy, being carried by ants or blown by the wind,” Chen-Charpentier said. “What we needed to do was create a model for cacao growers so they could know how far away they could safely plant vaccinated trees from unvaccinated trees in order to prevent the spread of the virus while keeping costs manageable for these small farmers.”

Communist Chinese government-tied TikTok is doubling down on election-interfering censorship even as it faces a potential U.S. ban. President Joe Biden signed into law a Republican-led bill that could force TikTok’s Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell the app or have it banned in America. TikTok came under fire for a March update to its “For You feed Eligibility Standards,” where the app announced its determination to censor alleged “misinformation,” “conspiracy theories” and “false or misleading” election content. This could constitute foreign election interference ahead of the 2024 election, as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) owns a board seat and maintains a financial stake in TikTok’s parent company ByteDance. TikTok’s update to its “Standards” details the alleged “Misinformation” it bans specifically for the “For You” feed, including “General conspiracy theories that are unfounded and claim that certain events or situations are carried out by covert or powerful groups, such as ‘the government’ or a ‘secret society.’” Can TikTok be trusted to determine what constitutes “Misinformation” unbiasedly? The platform's record suggests it cannot. TikTok has censored content to please the CCP in the past, including about Tibetan independence and Tiananmen Square, leaks have suggested. As for accusations against the American government, at least some of those would fall under the category of free speech.  MRC Free Speech America VP Dan Schneider said, “It is a fact, not a conspiracy theory, that the Biden administration coordinated and coerced Big Tech to censor conservatives who criticized Biden and his radical policies. But with Biden using TikTok as the centerpiece of his re-election campaign, it is now very possible that TikTok will do his bidding and hide this kind of information from voters.” Moreover, the Chinese-owned app’s standards also ramble vaguely about additional content that could get censored: “Unverified information related to an emergency or unfolding event where the details are still emerging” and “Potential high-harm misinformation while it is undergoing a fact-checking review.” The lack of clarity in these standards could lead to biased censorship of free speech. Finally, TikTok declared its ban on alleged “[u]nverified claims about the outcome of an election that is still unfolding and may be false or misleading.” The app does have indirect ties to the Chinese government which makes this new policy particularly dangerous. Multiple former TikTok employees recently told Forbes that the app has much closer ties and extensive data sharing between TikTok and ByeDance. This raises serious concerns about TikTok’s potential election interference. Conservatives are under attack. MRC’s Bozell Condemns Facebook Election Interference, Unveils Its No. 1 ‘Target’ for Censorship

MRC President Brent Bozell once again condemned Facebook's repeated election interference detailed in a bombshell MRC Free Speech America’s Special Report. During a Thursday morning interview with WMAL-FM’s Larry O’Connor, Bozell reiterated the findings featured in the report: Facebook has interfered in U.S. elections a whopping total of 39 times since 2008.  Bozell suggested that the censorship was vast and overwhelmingly biased, including “candidates,” “political action committees” and “organizations that either support a Republican or criticize a Democrat.” ICYMI! Bozell was well-prepared and did not hold back.  “Let's take 2016: Facebook partnered with this left-wing organization funded by Soros, the Poynter Institute, to create a network of left-wing fact-checkers,” Bozell said. But there was more, Bozell warned, asking rhetorically, “What did they then do? Over and over again, they suspended numerous pro-Trump Trump pages. They elevated liberals in their trending news, giving them preference over conservatives. They blacklisted [Sen.] Ted Cruz; they blacklisted [Sen.] Rand Paul.” Bozell’s remarks come a little over a month after a similar MRC Free Speech America report found that Google, like Facebook, interfered in U.S. elections 41 times. “Corporations can't be involved in political action at the federal level. Yet, you've got Big Tech that is picking winners and losers in elections, and when they do it the way they're doing it, it becomes a very serious threat to democracy itself,” Bozell said on April 17, alluding to the MRC report on Google’s election interference. President Trump visited construction workers at the site of the 1,388 foot tall JP Morgan office building going up at 270 Park Avenue in New York City Thursday morning before heading to court. Trump was well received by a large crowd of workers and others who heard about the early morning (6:30 a.m.) campaign stop.

Among those was a construction worker who had a blunt two-word message for Joe Biden.

Newsmax reporter Addison Smith posted video clips (now deleted) of his interviews with workers, asking about seeing so many Trump supporters in Manhattan and what their message is to Biden. One worker said, “Give it up,” while another worker was more explicit.

“I’m going to make a play for New Yorkers. They said, I just heard, there was a very good poll that came out. Normally, a Democrat will win New York. Biden is the worst president in history, we have some very bad people here, but we have the greatest people and they’re right behind me. They all want us to run, and we’re going to run very hard in New York,” Trump said to reporters. “They’ve taken my constitutional right away with a gag order. That’s all it is, it’s election interference, this whole thing is election interference.”

Trump’s campaign team also handed out a three-page document, titled, “Union Workers Paying the Price for Biden’s Failed Economic Policies.” Among the bullet points, Trump says, if re-elected, he will ban Chinese and foreign ownership of critical U.S. infrastructure and cancel Biden’s electric vehicle mandate.

The Supreme Court on Thursday heard oral arguments on Trump’s presidential immunity claim in Jack Smith’s January 6 case in DC.

The case made its way to the Supreme Court after the DC Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Trump was not immune from prosecution.

Trump’s lawyers previously argued that Trump is immune from federal prosecution for alleged ‘crimes’ committed while he served as US President.

“In 234 years of American history, no president ever faced criminal prosecution for his official acts. Until 19 days ago, no court had ever addressed whether immunity from such prosecution exists,” Trump’s lawyers wrote in last month’s filing, according to CBS News. “To this day, no appellate court has addressed it. The question stands among the most complex, intricate, and momentous issues that this Court will be called on to decide.”

John Sauer, a Missouri-based attorney for Trump, gave an opening statement on Thursday and argued that Jack Smith’s indictment uses vague statutes to criminalize “core authority” of the presidency.

As expected, the liberal justices, similar to the appellate court judges, floated absurd hypotheticals.

Liberal Justice Elena Kagan asked John Sauer, “How about if a president orders the military to stage a coup? Is that immune? Is it an official act?”

Liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor asked John Sauer if Trump would be immune from prosecution if he ordered the military to assassinate his political rival.

“…If the president decides that his rival is a corrupt person and he orders the military or orders someone to assassinate him, is that within his official acts that for which he can get immunity?” Sotomayor asked John Sauer.

Sauer replied, “It would depend on the hypothetical. What we can see that could well be an official act.”

Sotomayor defended Obama’s drone strikes on civilians while attacking Trump.

“He could. And why? Because he’s doing it for personal reasons. He’s not doing it like President Obama is alleged to have done it to protect the country from a terrorist. He’s doing it for personal gain. And isn’t that the nature of the allegations here, that he’s not doing them, doing these acts in furtherance of an official responsibility? He’s doing it for personal gain,” Sotomayor said.

“I agree with that characterization of the indictment. And that confirms immunity, because the characterization is that there’s a series of official acts that were done for an honorable,” Sauer said.

Sotomayor continue to argue with and interrupt John Sauer.

A three-judge panel for the DC Circuit Court of Appeals previously asked John Sauer if Trump would be immune if he ordered assassinations.

On January 9 a three-judge panel heard oral arguments and appeared skeptical of Trump’s immunity claims – one judge, a Biden appointee, asked attorney John Sauer if Trump would be subject to criminal prosecution if he ordered SEAL Team 6 to assassinate his political rivals.
